The East

Stretching from Grand Riviere Sud-Est up to St Geran, this is a coastline with the islands most exclusive hotels. There is a beautiful beach and a lagoon inside the reef. The onshore trade winds bring moisture on shore here and there is a relieving cool breeze in summer.

Most of the hotels stretch from Pointe de Flacq south to Trou d’Eau Douce. There is a waterpark at Belle Mare. Attached to Belle Mare Plage Hotel there are two championship golf courses.

Off shore lies Ile aux Cerfs - Deer island. It is a great boat excursion that takes you past the exclusive Tousserok hotel to the public beaches on their private island. You can walk round the island, play golf, dine at the restaurants, go parasailing or just laze on the beach. At the weekend there are lots of Mauritians too making it a very cosmopolitan place.
