Tour Information

On this safari you are guaranteed to see 4 of ’the Big 5’ - elephant, lion, rhino and buffalo - with an excellent chance of seeing leopard (the elusive 5th member!), as well as Nakuru’s flamingo millions and an enormous variety of other animals

Day 1

Depart Nairobi and drive south to Amboseli National Park (a 3 ½ hour journey), arriving at Amboseli Porini Camp in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon at leisure settlign into your tent and depart on a late afternoon game drive. Overnight at Amboseli Porini Camp

Day 2

Awake to the noisy calls of the birds. After an early breakfast, we drive through the bush on our private track into Amboseli National Park, for a full morning of game viewing. Following a picnic lunch in the park, we return to Porini Camp later in the afternoon. In the evening you will go on a game drive in Selenkay Conservancy, stopping for a sundowner at a scenic viewpoint, followed by a night game drive to look for nocturnal animals such as aardvarks, serval cats, caracals, bat-eared foxes, African wild cats, and other species. Return to camp for dinner and overnight

Day 3

Brief early morning game drive followed by breakfast and then transfer back to Nairobi, arriving before 13.00. After lunch at the Village Market, you will be transferred to Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving mid-afternoon at Lion Hill Lodge, your home for 2 nights, with its splendid views across the lake. After tea you will take a game drive to see the huge numbers of flamingo which are concentrated along the lake shore. In addition to the birdlife for which Nakuru is so well known, the park is home to many other species, including lion, leopard, both rhino species, buffalo, the rothschild’s giraffe, zebra, impala and waterbuck. Day 4

Wake up for an early morning game drive before breakfast to try to find leopard, which are frequently sighted in Lake Nakuru Park. Return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast you will take a further drive to seek out the 2 species of African rhino found in the park, returning before lunch. The afternoon is at your leisure, perhaps relaxing by the lodge swimming pool before an evening game drive in the park. Overnight Lion Hill Lodge

Day 5

After breakfast you will return back to Nairobi to catch the safari flight to the Maasai Mara. The next 2 nights you stay at Mara Poirni Camp, arriving in time for an early evening game drive. Overnight at Mara Porini Camp

Day 6

Full day in Maasai Mara with a picnic lunch. Driving in our custom built 4x4 vehicles, on the lookout for the big cats which the Mara is famous for. Sundowner & night game drive. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 7

Early morning game drive returning to Camp for breakfast. Depart for your flight back to Nairobi
