Chinese New Year Celebration and Open House
Kuala Lumpur & throughout Malaysia

Drums, gongs and cymbals clang and clash in accompaniment to lion and dragon dances, as the Chinese New Year is ushered in. The festival is celebrated over a 15-day period. On the eve of Chinese New Year, family members hold reunion dinners followed by ’open house’ for relatives and friends.

This is an exciting time to be in Malaysia as visitors are sure to come upon lion and dragon dance performances in public venues. The abundance of mandarin oranges and stalks of plum blossom, believed to bring prosperity and good luck, add to the festive air.
