Flight Information

Direct flights from London to Abu Dhabi International Airport are approximately 6 hours 45 minutes, direct flights from Manchester to Abu Dhabi International Airport are approximately 7 hours 30 minutes. Indirect flights may stop over in Doha or Muscat with varying stop-over times. If you have prebooked transfer arrangements with us you will be met on arrival by our Tropical Sky representative who will guide you to your transfer vehicle.

Visa Requirements

British citizens do not require a visa before their arrival in the UAE and will be given a 30 day visa on arrival. The 30-day visa can be extended for a further 30 days in the Emirate in which you arrived by visiting the appropriate immigration office and paying an extension fee.

Weather

Abu Dhabi is known for year round sunshine and warm temperatures. It has a sub-tropical, arid climate with summer highs up to 40 Celsius and winter lows of around 13. Rain falls mainly near the Hajar Mountains with very little precipitation elsewhere.

Language

Arabic is the official language though English is widely spoken and many street signs will be in both English & Arabic.

The official currency is the Emirati dirham (AED)

Ramadan

The holy month of Ramadan will be celebrated from the 20th July - 18th August 2012. During Ramadan, Muslims all over the world abstain from food, drink, and other physical needs during daylight hours. As a result hotels in the United Arab Emirates have restrictions on alcohol, food consumption and entertainment between sunrise and sunset. At nightfall these restrictions are lifted and normal eating, drinking and entertainment policies are resumed.
