A two-week overland adventure tour, this trip will give you the chance to meet mountain gorillas and many other amazing species of wildlife throughout some of Africa’s most spectacular locations. Head to the Kalinzu Forest for sightings of the chimpanzees and join experienced trackers as you travel deep into the forests of Uganda for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spot the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Today, view the diverse landscapes from the overland truck, enjoy an included boat trip ride where you can spot some hippos and other wildlife views before stopping off for your first night of camping.

Take a trip across the landscape today taking in the spectacular views from the OAV. Day 4 you’ll cross the border into Uganda and experience the country’s largest city – Kampala for your second night of camping outside of the country’s capital.

Wake early to enjoy a one-day guided mountain Chimpanzee trek today to get both amazing wildlife views and the chance to see the chimpanzees in their natural habitats. Learn about folklore and uses of the forest with your knowledgeable, local guide. Later in the day you’ll take a walk through the tea plantation before climbing into a Lando for a drive through the reserve.
Day 7 will be the guided Mountain Gorilla Trek (1-6hours) going deep into the volcanic forests to encounter the wildlife and meet a family of mountain gorillas – a simply breath taking experience. Make sure to bring plenty of water and waterproof clothing (you never know when it’s going to pour!). This national treasure is fiercely protected which only allows 8 visitors a day (group will be split).

After the day’s driving, spend some time relaxing by the lake – a birder’s paradise. This picturesque area is great for spotting native bird life, so don’t forget to take some pictures of the beautiful scenery. Options to explore include Canoeing, relaxing motorboat tour, swimming in the magical surroundings or go for a nature walk and visit some of the local communities along the way!

Return to the capital after a long drive with a stop off at the equator to break up the journey. The following couple of days you have the chance to explore and enjoy the outdoor pursuits and adventurous activities this area is known for today, with options for whitewater rafting or kayaking down the River Nile, quad bike alongside the River, mountain bike across the hills and volunteer with a local project or go horseback riding. You are stuck for choice!

Today you will cross over into Kenya for a night spent in Eldoret.
Here you will explore one of Kenya’s most amazing locations with a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park – the wildlife here is spectacular and well worth seeking out with your experience guide. The park is rich in life, search for Rhinos, buffalos, impalas, hyenas and even lions or leopards if you’re lucky enough to spot them!
Opt to go on a walking safari, visit the Green Crater Lake, or spend some time viewing the birds and wildlife around the camp on your penultimate day of the tour.

Transfer to Nairobi, where the tour ends upon arrival in the late afternoon (depart after 9pm).
