Put your feet up and relax

The tourist hub of Kenya, Mombasa is a bustling coastal city with an intoxicating atmosphere. The tropical climate and white sand beaches make it a great alternative beach location that fuses sunbathing with a fascinating history and sightseeing.

There’s a wonderfully friendly atmosphere here that infuses into every street, hotel and restaurant. Beyond the tranquil beaches that are fringed by azure waters, there’s a wealth to explore here. From the historic Old Town to the marinas and fantastic diving spots, Mombasa is a great mixture of secluded spots and hubs of activity. Bordering the Indian Ocean, the marine life here is spectacular – a must for divers and snorkelers.

Scenic and awe-inspiring, the Shimba Hills National Reserve is situated just outside of Mombasa. One of the largest coastal forests to be found on the eastern side of Africa, and home to a number of spectacular species, this reserve is a truly remarkable place. The rich flora and fauna make this a superb setting for wildlife sightings, from the mighty elephant to fruit bats and antelope. Spend your time roaming the grasslands or picnicking in amongst the beautiful tropical foliage – it’s a stunning destination.

Inspired? Tropical Sky also arranges Africa safari holidays in other Kenyan destinations including Maasai Mara National Park, Mombasa, Tsavo National Park, Aberdare National Park, Amboseli National Park, Lake Nakuru National Park, Lamu, Meru National Park and Samburu National Park.
