Find yourself as close as possible to the mighty gorillas and chimpanzees of Rwanda and Uganda on this amazing 9-day trip. From gorillas and chimps to an array of monkeys, you’ll spend your time trekking through the jungles of Africa, taking boat trips through national parks and learning about the fascinating history of each location along the way. Accompanied by an expert tour guide and staying in comfortable lodges along the way, this is a great combination of amazing scenery, awe-inspiring wildlife and relaxing down time.

Day 1


Arrive into Kigali and transfer to your hotel. You’ll meet with your tour guide and fellow travellers in the evening to go over details of the tour.

Day 2

Northern Rwanda/Volcanoes National Park

Today sees you take an orientation tour of Kigali and learn about the fascinating yet somber history of this country, visiting the Genocide Memorial while you’re here. You’ll stop for lunch at the Hôtel des Mille Collines before proceeding to the northern region of Rwanda to your lodge, which is situated on the outside of the park with amazing views of the volcano.

Day 3

Northern Rwanda/Volcanoes National Park

Leave early and transfer to the National Park to meet with your guide/Gorilla tracker for your orientation. You’ll then embark on a trek which can vary in length and difficulty, depending on the location of the gorilla family you’ll be visiting. There will be time to spend an hour observing these amazing creatures before trekking back to the lodge where you can spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 4

Northern Rwanda/Volcanoes National Park

Take part in a second trek today into the park with your ranger/guide where you’ll have the chance to view a unique and endangered species – the Golden Monkeys. There will be time to watch these playful creatures in their natural habitat before visiting the Ros Carr house and orphanage.

Day 5

Queen Elizabeth National Park

After enjoying breakfast, cross into Uganda to arrive at the Queen Elizabeth National Park in the afternoon. Along the way, visit a tea factory and farm and take part in a tour. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure at the lodge, so spend time at the pool or relaxing with a drink.

Day 6

Queen Elizabeth National Park

Explore the park today with a chimp trek to seek our these fascinating animals. There will also be time for a safari drive where you may be luck enough to see buffalo, warthogs, lions, leopards, elephants and waterbuck.

Day 7

Queen Elizabeth National Park

Take part in a morning game drive to have the opportunity to see more of Africa’s amazing wildlife. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel to see hippos and the tropical birdlife. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Day 8


After breakfast, head to Entebbe and stop along the way at the equator and the royal drum-makers workshop.
