Adrenalin Fuelled Luxury Holidays in Dubai

Like many holidaymakers, our MD Mike Collins is never satisfied just cooking himself in the sun every day.  Sure, he desperately needed to unwind, relax, lounge about a bit and have one or two drinks……but then what?

Mike has just returned from what he considers to be the perfect place if you have a short amount of time on your hands and need luxury and relaxation, but also crave some adventure too!   Dubai is the place to go he reckons, and here are his thoughts…..

On a three day trip in March 2009, I managed to squeeze in clubs, pubs, restaurants, beach, pools, sea and more bars….plus a whole lot more.  Take the 4 Wheel Drive Dunes experience.  Wow, what a rush.  These things really fly and slide around some really awesome Dunes.  Flip over the top of the highest Dunes, slam on the brakes and point (what feels like) straight down.  You are hanging in there by your seat belt with the engine revving, tyres spinning and at last, you rocket off!  If you want the extra “fairground ride with bumps feeling” – jump straight into the very back seats!

If time is tight – take a trip for just a couple of hours.  Doing the “all day” thing is great fun.  But if you’ve got to cram as much as you can into in a busy itinerary, just go straight to the adrenaline rush stuff and skip the leisurely amble and picnic afterwards kind of affair.  Also if you’re in a small group, tailor-make this trip and squeeze in sand boarding too – something else!

OK, now heart is pounding and you feel alive, what’s next on the list?  You could look at Go Carting or Paintball? No, tell you what!  Skip that -  not adventurous enough!  Why not do a bit of skiing!  Yes seriously skiing – or snowboarding if you prefer.  Hire boards or skis, all the clothes, boots and gear for just a few quid and a with 20 minute transfer you can escape the 30-40 degrees heat and rather surreally go skiing in the indoor ski dome.  Not quite like the real thing, but great fun for a couple of hours!

OK time for one more thing – two hours to fill.  Yup, let’s head for Aquaventure, the new water park at the Atlantis. There are a couple of leisurely rides but there’s also a couple of real adrenaline pumping, you must be mad, are you kidding type rides!   The SURGE with a sharp drop and then darkness is pretty awesome.  But to be honest, for the ultimate, you have to go straight to the LEAP OF FAITH.  It’s a 27 metre, almost sheer drop that relegates any Disney ride and most other waterpark attractions you’ve seen to the status of a merry-go-round – the little one with the teacups!

Luxury, guaranteed sunshine, adrenaline rush!  Yup!  Dubai ticks all the boxes as far as I’m concerned!
