We have recently returned from our 13th holiday to Turtle Beach by rex resorts. Our first visit was in 1992, and we have already booked up for next year. When we first went it was to tie in with England playing West Indies at Trinidad and we have done that three times. Now we go for the holiday first and the cricket second! We have become friendly with the staff and when some of them have moved on we have visited them in their new place of work. This has meant that we have seen many of the hotels on the island of Tobago, some have more stars and the visitors there are paying more than we are, and each time we return to Turtle Beach with a sigh of relief at our choice.

There is not a better position in the whole island. We now choose a ground floor room, so that in the morning I can walk outside and can be in the sea or on the beach in seconds. There is always a choice of food, the breakfasts in particular are excellent, and there are regular BBQs. We have chosen to be all-inclusive a few times now. It is wonderful value-for-money and is so reasonable that guests should be able to go to local restaurants and have a change of scenery and menu.

For us the most important thing about returning to the same place is the people. We are greeted warmly, and some say, ‘Welcome Home’ and, for us, it has become our second home. The staff are very special, they smile and are friendly, and they make people feel valued.
