You have to experience a catamaran cruise at least once in the Caribbean….Nothing quite beats relaxing up on deck in the warm Caribbean sunshine, looking out over the crystal-clear sea, of course with a cocktail or rum and coke in hand ….. hey, it would be rude not to!

On a recent trip to Barbados we chose to take one day out of our hectic schedule (sunbathing and relaxing) to enjoy a 5 hour lunchtime cruise. Picking up the boat, Tiami, from Bridgetown we relaxed onboard as we cruised up the West Coast of the island. The staff were extremely attentive and couldn’t do enough to make our day as fun as possible.

Stopping off to swim with the turtles was a definite highlight, as was snorkelling at Carlisle Bay. There is a shipwreck close to the shore, the coral and fish surrounding it are fantastic and you see just as much snorkelling as you would scuba diving!

Lunch was served on board and consisted of a variety of fish, chicken, mash potato, rice and peas. Of course there is an open bar, so plenty of beer was available to wash lunch down!

This trip is a great way to see the island and i would highly reccomend it to anyone wanting to see a bit more while in Barbados. We stayed at Almond Casuarina and booked the trip directly with the hotel. Return transfers to Bridgetown were also included.

Don’t forget to take plenty of suncream and a hat, the sun around midday is scorching!

Enjoy!
