I love curry and need very little excuse to try one out whenever I go away. On a recent trip to Sharm El Sheikh I asked my Egyptian guide where I could find ” The Best Curry in Town”. He mentioned a few places where the locals eat which is always a very good indication on the quality of the food and standards of their food hygiene, we were also recommended the Bombay restaurant in Soho Square.

Soho Square is a new development owned by the Savoy Hotel and offers a wide range of quality restaurants, bars, an ice bar, ice rink and even a nightclub. Were arrived for our 8pm reservation and were greeted with a welcoming smile and shown to our table. The atmosphere was buzzing and everyone seemed to be having a great time – a round of Sakara Beer arrived soon after our arrival and our friendly waiter ” Mohammed ” was on hand to suggest the chefs best dishes.

The food arrived fresh from the open plan kitchen cooked by the resident Indian Chef and we were not disappointed. I went for a starter of onion bhaji, followed by a chicken Jalfrazi and was blown away with the authentic blend of spices and fresh ingredients.

If you are planning a visit to Sharm El Sheikh this year then I would highly recommend the Bombay Restaurant in Soho Square. If curry is not your thing then you can also enjoy the Chinese, Thai and Asian Fusion Restaurants – all on the same floor.

Enjoy.
