Learn to Mix a Vesper Martini Like James Bond

Virgin Atlantic introduced an expert cocktail ‘mixologist’ service on selected flights in 2004 and the service is now a feature of many of its popular worldwide routes. Now, in tribute to James Bond, who travels by Virgin Atlantic in the new movie Quantum of Solace, one of its onboard barmen is revealing the ultimate way to make a genuine Vesper Martini, in true Bond-style.

Barman Marc Plumridge is featured on a new video available on YouTube.com and on Virgin Atlantic’s Facebook group where he shows how to make this classic cocktail.

“The Vesper Martini is the ultimate drink – full of sophistication and style and I hope you enjoy making your own,” explains Marc. “Even better, why not try this delightful little number whilst relaxing in the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at Heathrow Airport.”

The Vesper contains 60ml Bombay Sapphire, 20ml Grey Goose, 10ml Lillet Blanc, and a twist of lemon peel. It’s named after the glamorous raven-haired double agent Vesper Lynd in Ian Fleming’s original 1953 Bond novel Casino Royale.
