It’s been a six-year project, but Wadadli Animal Nature Park in Long Lane Estate in Antigua is now proving to be one of the most popular wildlife experiences for visitors to the Caribbean island.   Former West Indies cricketer (and sheep and goat farmer!) Dave Joseph runs a nearby farm and has been the driving force of the nature park project – which is still a work in progress.   The park sits on 10 acres of lush green forest land where visitors on the 45-minute tour can expect to see exotic and indigenous animals such as deer, iguanas, monkeys, parrots, pigs and cows.  However there are also plans for a new restaurant and visitor centre, as well as an aquarium.   Joseph is currently undertaking the mammoth task of planting more trees in the park, and his famous ex-cricketing colleagues and the media will soon be invited in for a tree planting and naming exercise.  The park is open daily from 8am until 5pm, it’s well worth a visit for any nature lover.
