The Caribbean sailors will be out in force on the stunning shores of Grenada this summer for the annual Carriacou Regatta Festival.  A different twist to the traditional British boat regatta, the Carriacou festival represents more of a scene from Pirates of the Caribbean, with the coast of Hillsborough Bay being overtaken by sailors from the surrounding Caribbean islands of Tobago, Martinique, Antigua and St. Vincent, as they battle it out aboard traditional workboats to be crowned King of the seas.  During recent years it has become a major summer festival in the Caribbean calendar and it is definitely worth taking time out from topping up the tan on the island’s selection of stunning sandy beaches to head over to Grenada’s sister island of Carriacou, to take in the breathtaking scenery and enjoy the lively Caribbean party atmosphere!
