There are a great selection of 5 star hotels in Thailand. They all have rooms or suites with baths or private pools, a range of restaurants all competing on service, high standard of food, huge numbers of staff sometimes more than the number of guests, spa and more …

A personal favourite of mine is the Sarojin, Khao Lak.

What 10 things make the Sarojin stand out….?

  1. The special welcome. The branded 4 by 4 meets you at the airport and on board are cold towels, water and singha beer. The driver phones the hotel 3 minutes from arrival and the reception staff are waiting for the car with flowers and a very warm welcome
  2. You can have whatever you want when you want. We went to breakfast at noon one day. The restaurant had the full breakfast menu and people were pleased to serve you.
  3. Mosquito spay in the room and on the restaurant tables -  a natural formula in small bottles. Under each outdoor dining table was a mosquito coil.
  4. Original excursions Lady Sarojin a super speedboat can be chartered or you can join in fixed trips to get the cost down. The Similan islands are one of the top 10 worldwide diving sites. You can go to the market with the chef to shop and then go off to the river or a waterfall to learn how to cook it
  5. The welcome of all the staff. Everyone has a badge. The names have been abbreviated to two or three letters where as I expect their names are 3 foot long. We have Po, Jib, Tor, Au and O amongst many others. They get trained twice a week and it shows. Everyone frorm the lowliest gardener to the maitre di says hello in Thai and makes the praying hands a traditional Thai welcome
  6. You are right on the beach and can eat your dinner in shorts with the sand between your feet. Flip flops and shorts are fine during day or night. There are no Caribbean trouser police.
  7. Khao Lak, or this area of it, is relatively unspoilt. There is a huge beach stretching for 9 miles on which you can walk or run.
  8. The hotel does not hold you prisoner in their two excellent restaurants. There is a free shuttle bus to Khao Lak. There are free bicycles and a map to tell you where to go. You can enjoy breakfast and the luxury of the 5  star experience and eat out at two different Thai restaurants on the beach or one of many in town.

Why not visit the Sarojin with Tropical Sky this summer for a little over £1000 for a week. Call us today for further information.
