Tobago - a Caribbean bird watching paradise

A tropical holiday offers plenty of attractions – soft sandy beaches, exotic cuisine, swaying palm trees, crystal-clear oceans and luxury accommodation.

Many people are also attracted to these stunning locations for their natural beauty and local wildlife. It’s sometimes the smaller creatures, like a hummingbird buzzing up to your balcony, that make for the most enduring holiday memories.

There’s a wealth of other colourful and interesting birdlife to be discovered at many of Tropical Sky’s destinations. You may not know that Tobago, for example, is a birdwatcher’s paradise, with hundreds of species to be found around its lushly vegetated interior and along the coast.

It’s a good idea to take a decent guidebook along and a good place to start is the excellent Helm Field Guides series. They’re clearly presented with superb illustrations and are highly recommended.

Their Trinidad and Tobago edition is an essential item to pack along with your sun cream and bathers if you want to make the most of your visit.
