Flights and Transfers

The total travelling time from the UK to Anguilla will take around 13 hours as you have to fly via Antigua. You’ll fly in to Clacton J Lloyd International Airport which is located relatively centrally and the small size of the island means that no matter which resort you’re based at, transfers won’t take more than 20 minutes.

Visa Requirements

Citizens of the EU do not require a visa to enter Anguilla. You must have your passport with you and the passport must be valid for six months past the date of entry to Anguilla. Travellers should check full entry requirements prior to travel.

Language

English is the official language – you will have no problem conversing with locals or hotel staff.

Transportation

If you’re looking to get out and explore you can hire a car; there are plenty of rental options available. Driving is on the left and the speed limits are relatively slow, but the small size of the island means it doesn’t take long to get anywhere. It’s also possible to hire bikes and mopeds if you prefer.

Another option is taking taxis, although these unmetered and can work out to be very expensive if you use them regularly.

Currency

The official currency of Anguilla is the East Caribbean Dollar, however many shops and restaurants list their prices in US dollars and generally you can use US dollars to pay.

Vaccinations and Health

There are no specific vaccinations required to enter Anguilla, but you should take mosquito repellent and apply regularly as they can be annoying especially in the wetter months.
