Barcelo Bavaro Beach
Overview
What we really love about this resort is its location. Nestling in lush tropical gardens and opening out onto the exquisite sandy beach, it offers you a holiday surrounded by that prototypical Caribbean beauty.
There’s a large swimming pool but the sun loungers are snapped up very quickly, but that’s not too much of a problem as days spent on the beach are just as relaxing. Dining is a pleasure too. There are three on-site restaurants and a further seven located on a sister resort which are all accessible to guests; the definition of spoiled for choice.
It’s a huge resort and we think that you’d struggle to get bored even if you tried. There’s an 18-hole miniature golf course, a plethora of non-motorised watersports available and even a spa if you want to spend a little extra on the treatments.
Top Tip: It’s definitely worth reserving tables at the a la carte restaurants for the majority of your stay. While there’s nothing wrong with the main buffet restaurants, the a la carte options offer a more intimate setting.
