Eating, Drinking and Nightlife

The large expat community means that you can find restaurants serving almost any cuisine in Turks and Caicos. But if you’re getting away from the resorts, it’s a good idea to try something that you won’t find anywhere else. Typically, the local food is a fairly simple affair with some sort of meat or seafood served with locally-grown corn, rice and vegetables – but expect them to be served with delicious local sauces. Be warned: they can get quite spicy.

Drinking and Nightlife

One popular local drink is Islander Ginger Beer. It’s an alcoholic or ‘hard’ ginger beer that you can only buy in Turks and Caicos (its storage requirements mean it can’t be exported). If you want to go out partying then Cockburn Town on Grand Turk and the big towns on Providenciales.
