An excellent fourteen night cruise visiting Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Manila, Borneo and Brunei . The Costa Allegra is a small ship with an international crew and guests from all over the world!

Details

Day 1

Thursday. Leave the UK on your overnight flight to Singapore

Day 2

Friday. Arrive in Singapore and transfer to your hotel The Traders or similar.

Day 3

Saturday. Board the Costa Allegre in Singapore this afternoon and spend some time orientating yourself and getting to know your Captain and crew before the early evening departure. Dinner on board will be followed by the entertainment in the ‘Galaxy of the Stars’ theatre.

Day 4

Sunday. As you cruise off the coast of the Malaysian Peninsula today, relax and unwind on deck with lunch by the pool, soaking up the sun then perhaps join in some of the activities offered this afternoon. Sip a cocktail before dinner on route to Vietnam.

Day 5

Monday. The shore excursions here have something for everyone from cookery lessons to city and countryside tours. The Cu Chi tunnels are legendary and at the height of the war they stretched almost to the border with Cambodia with space for hospitals, kitchen and living areas. Back to the ship for a mid-afternoon sailing taking you north again as you sip your cocktail and take in a show.

Day 6

Tuesday. A day at sea as you sail along the coast of Vietnam. Relax on board in the sunshine.

Day 7

Wednesday. Once the most important port in central Vietnam, we arrive into Danang at breakfast time today leaving you free for the whole day to explore the city. Maybe the pristine beaches will tempt you to relax for a while but you will be sure to be drawn by the cave temples of Marble Mountain and their intricate stone carving. A mid-evening departure means you’ll still have time to explore the colourful streets before you make your way back to the ship.

Day 8

Thursday. Continue sailing today as you head north towards Hong Kong.

Day 9

Friday. Hong Kong – the most cosmopolitan of cities! Something for everyone here but perhaps you could start with an tour of the city to get yourself orientated. Take a bus to the world famous Stanley Market or spend a few pence to get on board the Star Ferry or ride the funicular up to Victoria Peak and enjoy the spectacular view over the harbour and the whole city – particularly wonderful at dusk. A mid-evening departure helps you make the most of your day in Hong Kong – don’t forget the designer shops.

Day 10

Saturday. Cruise south towards the Philippines

Day 11

Sunday. A day in Manila the capital of the Philippines and one of the greatest cities of South East Asia, is built on the edge of the wonderful natural harbour of Manila Bay. Today, Manila is a lively metropolis with a delightful mix of old and new: age-old traditions and modern-day attractions. You can do a city tour or go out into the country surrounding the city.

Day 12

Monday. Sailing south again today, take some time to think about your exciting destination of Borneo for tomorrow.

Day 13

Tuesday. Kota Kinabalu offers you the chance to go to the rainforest and the beach in Tunku Abdul Rahman national park – 5 islands surrounded by reefs Or you can take a ride on the North Borneo Railway – trip into a bygone age for steam train enthusiasts whilst taking in the lush tropical landscape. If you need to know more about the area, the Monsopiad Heritage Cultural Village offers you a glimpse of the local headhunting culture.

Day 14

Wednesday. Bandar Seri Begawan is the capital of Brunei. Take a trip to the mosque, enjoy the markets and the sights.

Day 15

Day 16

Friday. Early morning arrival in Singapore. Leave tonight for your flight home or perhaps extend your stay.
