Overview

Explore the world by day and stay up all night. This is a small group tour, perfect for those who want to travel but want a group of ready made friends to enjoy it with. The activities and nature of the tour mean it is suitable for younger travellers (18-35 yrs). Explore four very diverse countries on a fascinating tour of the heart and soul of Indochina. Along the way, you will encounter the history, splendour and culture of these amazing destinations. From Angkor Wat, the beauty of Ha Long Bay and charming bike rides through Vang Vieng, this is a tour with so much to offer, in terms of both ancient history and buzzing nightlife. (GY - ATID)

Day 1

Bangkok

Arrive at any time into Bangkok and explore the city at your leisure.

Day 2-3

Siem Reap/Angkor Wat

Today you’ll travel from Bangkok to Siem Reap. Over the course of the next two days, you will have the opportunity to experience a guided tour of the Angkor Wat complex and enjoy a Khmer lunch at New Hope, a local school and Planterra-supported project. The hotel is located just a short ten-minute walk from the city centre, situated in Siem Reap, there is options for a night out, a tour of the floating villages and a trip to the Cambodian Circus.

Day 4-5

Phnom Penh

On day four, you will journey by local bus to Phnom Penh – the capital of Cambodia. After a brief orientation walk you will have the option to visit the Tuol Sleng prison and the Choeung Ek (Killing Fields), Central Market, the National Museum and Royal Palace.

Day 6-7

Sihanoukville

The next couple of days are all about relaxing, as you will be spending time on the beaches of Sihanoukville. There will be an optional snorkelling boat trip or you can just swim and relax on the beach.

Day 8

Mekong Delta

Today, cross boarder to Vietnam and drive from Sihanoukville to Can Tho in Mekong Delta. Enjoy the unique cultural experience of an overnight local village homestay where you will get an experience of the local life and traditional food.

Day 9-10

Ho Chi Minh City

You’ll spend today in Ho Chi Minh City where you’ll enjoy one of several street food crawls and hop on a boat to one of the floating markets. There’s an optional to visit Cu Chi Tunnels, War Remants Museum and the Colonial Quarter, or go shopping in Ben Thanh market and take a cyclo tour. You’ll then take an overnight train to Nha Trang on day 10.

Day 11-12

Nha Trang

After arriving in Nha Trang, you will have time to explore and relax on the beach. Optional activities include a snorkelling boat trip, mud baths visit, motorbike tour of the area or the opportunity to just relax by the beach. Your overnight train to Hoi An takes place on day 12.

Day 13-14

Hoi An

Once you arrive in Hoi An, you’ll enjoy a self-guided walking tour of this living museum which plays host to a number of attractions for lunch you will take part in a cooking class where you’ll enjoy your tasty noodle creations. With plenty of free time you may wish to opt to explore My Son Ruins, bike to the beach, take a riverboat tour or visit the old town tailor shops.

Day 15-16

Hue

Continue on your journey to the city of Hue, where you’ll stop halfway into the ride at the Hai Van Pass for amazing views of the countryside. Once in the city, you will have the chance to visit the Citadel and Imperial Tombs, take a Perfume River boat trip or countryside motorbike tour. You will then take an overnight train to Hanoi.

Day 17

Ha Long Bay/Bay Chai Harbour

Visit Ha Long Bay today for a real dose of the history and culture of the area; there will also be time for a seafood lunch cruise and a visit to a cave.

Day 18-19

Hanoi

Explore Hanoi today with an orientation walk through the old quarter; there will be plenty of things to do here which include taking a visit to Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, the Temple of Literature and the Hoa Lo Prison, or take a break from city walking and wander down to the vibrant Hoan Kiem Lake. If you have time and want to shop, the Old Quarter has plenty of interesting trade shops.

Day 20

Vientiane

A short afternoon flight takes us to the capital city of Laos for day 20, with the chance to visit temples, the National Museum, the golden stupa monument of That Luang or wander round the markets.

Day 21-22

Vang Vieng

A picturesque drive takes you to the beautiful Vang Vieng, set along the Nam Song River. On day 22, why not explore some of the caves by bicycle or go swimming in the river? (Options to go tubing also!)

Day 23-24

Luang Prabang

You will travel this morning to Luang Prabang, a magical and beautiful destination. Witness the giving of alms to the Buddhist monks and visit the night market. You may also wish to go to cooking school, take an elephant trek, visit temples or cool off at the Kuang Si Waterfall while you’re here.

Day 25

Mekong River

Cruise the Mekong today on a long houseboat before arriving to a village homestay for the night to gain a glimpse into the daily rural life.

Day 26

Chiang Khong

Today you will enjoy a long leisurely boat ride along the Mekong with refreshments before arriving at the Laos/Thai border; here you will cross into Chiang Khong in the late afternoon.

Day 27-28

Chiang Mai

On day 27, opt to visit Doi Suthep or the Chiang Mai Zoo, catch a Thai boxing match or grab a bargain at the famous night market. On Day 28, you’ll have free time to relax with a massage, meander through the Old city by cyclo or visit a golden Buddhist temple. In the evening you’ll board an overnight train to Bangkok (flight and extra night in Chiang Mai during monsoon season, depending on conditions).

Day 29

Bangkok

Spend the day in Bangkok, with the chance to visit Wat Po and the Grand Palace, buy any last minute souvenirs and enjoy a Thai meal in the evening to say your farewells and drink some Thai beer.

Day 30

Depart at any time from Bangkok. (Transfer is not included)
