Day 1

Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City

Today you’ll arrive in Ho Chi Minh City, previously known as Saigon, where you’ll be met on arrival by your guide and transferred in a private car to your hotel. You’ll then enjoy a delicious dinner at one of the city’s best restaurants before heading back to the hotel for a restful night sleep.

Overnight: Park Hyatt Ho Chi Minh City (dinner included)

Day 2

Ho Chi Minh City

Today you’ll be picked up from your hotel at 8:30am and you’ll be driven to the flower market. This unique market sells flowers from all across Vietnam, and it offers a fantastic insight into the flora of Vietnam as well as a chance to experience something different. Take the time to walk through the alleys and chat to stallholders about their flowers – the smells are just incredible.

Leaving the flower market behind you’ll visit a traditional Vietnamese market, where you’ll see the bustling lifestyle typical of the city. See all the different local products and foods on sale – don’t forget to try anything you fancy. This is something tourists don’t often get to see and can be a real highlight of the tour.

You’ll visit the FITO Museum, which documents and enlightens visitors about traditional Vietnamese medicine, including the use of herbs, ancient books and instruments. This is followed by a visit to Dong Pho restaurant for a tasty lunch.

In the afternoon you’ll visit the city’s oldest quarter, exploring this characterful neighbourhood including Le Cong Kieu Street – referred to as ‘Antique Street’ – famous for unique oriental art and authentic vintage goods as well as very convincing fakes! Head to the Beaux-Arts Museum to enjoy the culture before sampling a Ho Chi Minh institution; Fanny’s ice cream parlour. The shop offers everything from classic flavours including chocolate hazelnut, strawberry and pistachio, to unique concoctions including soursop sorbet and avocado ice cream.

In the evening you’ll experience the nightlife of the city from the back of a vespa scooter. All your food and drinks during the night are included in the price, so feel free to indulge! Your first stop will be a street stall where you’ll try authentic Vietnamese street food and local bia hoi (beer). You’ll finish the evening with a visit to a coffee-shop before the chance to head out to a local club. You’ll then transfer back to the hotel to sleep off the festivities.

Overnight: Park Hyatt Ho Chi Minh (breakfast, lunch and dinner included)

Later you’ll make trips to the verdant river islands of Dong Phu, Binh Hoa Phuong and Anh Binh. Stop off for lunch a colonial-style villa in a local village; you’ll have the opportunity to try a Mekong speciality called the elephant ear fish which is grilled and then served with fresh herbs.

After the trip to the market you’ll head over to Duc’s restaurant, Mango Rooms where you’ll have your class. You’ll learn the art of seasoning and get the chance to cook some of the Duc’s signature dishes including pan-seared blue fin tuna steak with garlic, onion, ginger, basil and sesame seeds, and battered prawns in a Japanese-Vietnamese style sauce. After the class you’ll sit down to enjoy the dishes you’ve cooked.
