What do people say about the Hawksbill by Rex Resorts in Antigua, Caribbean?

Another great holiday in Dec 09 - Jan 10. Staff fantastic, food fantastic, and another fantastic New Years eve party, despite the rain, well done to all the staff for the hard work on a very damp night. definately will be back.

Have been visiting Hawksbill since 1986 and cannot rave enough about the attentive staff. We have become friends, not guests. The views are fabulous and the beaches are 2nd to none. Can’t wait to return in November.

My family have been coming to this hotel since 1987. It is a totally wonderful relaxing experience. You are given a lovely warm welcome by the staff, a glass of champagne and warm towel is waiting when you arrive after your long journey , nothing is too much trouble. Richard Michelin the Hotel Manager is a constant presence, wonderfully helpful and informative, any problems and he sorts them out instantly. It is a superb feeling every time we return, hugs all round. The food is good and the wine just keeps flowing. The views and beaches are outstanding. It is truly a place to rejuvenate the soul. Antiguans are truly lovely. Cant wait to get back ’home’

i had a lovely time at the hotel, though the rooms could do with updating as they are still quite old fashioned, i am hoping to return again next year

We have had two visits to this hotel & are planning a third. The ideal place to escape our busy UK lifestyle & relax. Wonderful staff who welcomed us back each time we had visited. Some rooms need updating, but you only sleep in them.

Our first time in the Caribbean, and our first time all inclusive. I was not expecting such a great deal, super food, excellent service, super rooms (go for the air con if you can ). The resort is very well laid out, the beach’s are fantastic, never done so much swimming before as the sea was very safe and warm. Fabulous excursions ( the Eco Tour is a must ). Thanks to all the staff and guests at the resort. We went there 1st 2 weeks in Sept 2007, the weather apart from one day was brilliant. Go again ? ........... Of course.

Good value for money but older rooms very dated. Staff generally friendly. Food acceptable - sometimes very good. Lots of beach space and room to have a good, long walk - also nude beach. Entertainment good.

Once there, Fantastic! Serene, relaxing, friendly, Superb beaches. well maintained throughout. Food is excellent but watch out for the uninvited friendly feathered diners at mealtimes, (especially breakfast). Evenings.. DO NOT wear black or similar dark colours, leave them at home.(it attracts the insect diners to YOU).
Up grading is usually possible, but wherever you are each has its own unique charm. Sea front rooms can have the appearence of waves lapping around your bed at night!
The gardens are lovely for a dappled shaded stroll and a lot of the trees have signs indicating their species, Avacado, Orange, Lemon, Mango etc and one that was a surprise was the’Turpentine’ trees).
Dress for the 4 beaches in order of north to south are;- Informal, Formal, Informal, Clothing optional. The latter I noticed, (except for the average er...adventurous, which took a while to ...adapt), was generally birthday suits.
Water sports equipment can be readilly borrowed including wind-surf boards, canoes, small sail boats etc and you really can’t miss a bit of snorkling on the reefs and rocky outcrops.
Hire a car, we found that in 3 to 4 days you can pretty well see the nooks and crannies that the island has to offer and there’s plenty of them.
DO NOT forget to take your stiils and video cameras. You would never forgive yourself!
Would I go again.....You bet.
