7nts All Inclusive from £999
The all-inclusive Island Inn is a quaint 24-room property which will amaze you with its disarming simplicity and charm. Whether you’re alone or travelling with family or friends, Island Inn offers an unrivalled warmth of atmosphere, with contemporary trappings and a true Bajan experience. Originally constructed in 1804 as a Rum Storage facility for the British Regiment, Island Inn is now part of the historic Garrison area of Barbados. With 24 guest rooms in five different categories, the Island Inn Hotel remains a very personal hotel and following an extensive refurbishment is now arguably one of the best boutique hotels on the island. The addition of contemporary furnishings and décor has enhanced the overall hotel aesthetic but effectively maintains the hotel’s unique character and charm. The Boardwalk Restaurant is renowned locally for its sumptuous fare, offering an eclectic blend of local and international cuisine. The beach at Carlisle Bay is literally steps away from the hotel and whilst food and drink is readily available, the wonderful staff will happily provide guests with a picnic hamper each day.

We have had two holidays at this fantastic hotel upto now, we are now looking to go for a third time which will be christmas and new year. I cant praise the staff enough from the cleaners to the management they all treat you as if you were part of the Island Inn family. We are definately going again and again and again. My husband had previously stayed at this hotel and we decided to get married there. All the staff there were so friendly and couldn`t do enough for us.Our 1 one problem with the wedding was we had to put it back a day as there was an election and subsequent bank holiday meaning that the flowers would not be made on the day,so we simply changed the day.
The Island Inn was and still is perfect for us as we don`t like large hotels. The rooms are kept spotlessly clean, the food is very good and the bar stays open late!!
We`re hoping to return for our anniversary in January 2009.
Thanks to all the staff who made our wedding such a memorable day.

My partner and I spent a two week vacation at the Island Inn - we were looking for a small hotel, peaceful and relaxing. This is exactly what we got. All the staff were very friendly and made you feel at home. The beach was only round the corner which is handy if you prefer the beaches. Was a fab holiday and doo intend to return to the hotel again soon xxxxx Thanks to Earl, Micheal and all the girls.![]()

Excellent small hotel where many of the customers return again and again.
Food is excellent and as good as you would get in any five star hotel. If you want to go out all day, the packed lunches are of good quality and plentiful. These are free given all inclusive board but need to be ordered the night before.
The staff are extremely friendly and do not change from year to year. Several have worked there for more than 25 years! This in itself is an excellent testament to the hotel.
Rooms are basic but cleaned daily with regular linen changes. Bathrooms are in need of modernisation but fullly functional. Towels are changed regularly but not always daily! Many TV channels are available but BBC World is really the only one of any interest. The local TV station is sometimes available if you want to know whats going on in Barbados!
The swimming pool is very small and will disappoint anyone looking for a poolside holiday! That said, Barbados is all about white sandy beaches and Carlisle Bay / beach is a genuine one minute walk from reception. An extra two or three minutes takes you to an excellent beach area adjacent to the Barbados Hilton hotel.
The hotel is about 25 minutes walk into central Bridgetown along the main road which is about 100 metres from reception. Alternatively, a walk along the white sandy beach is a very good option.
Bus stops are within 3 minutes of the hotel and public transport is far better than that in the UK albeit the Bridgetown area is permanent gridlock! There are some 120,000 vehicles on an island the size of the Isle of Wight!
Evenings are best spent at the hotel meeting new frinds in the courtyard which is adjacent to both the bar and the dining area. There is entertainment 3 nights a week including the Managers’ Rum Party / BBQ night on a Wednesday. There is no nightlife in the vicinity of the hotel but reception look after all guests extremely well and will arrange taxis very easily should you wish to venture out.
All in all, this is an excellent hotel and exceedingly good value. Problem is that the Island Inn is getting more and more popular every year and as such getting more and more difficult to book!![]()

We stayed here in September and the welcome from the staff was excellent. A small personal hotel where you really are a guest. The food is good and varied and the cocktails excellent. Really all inclusive. The pool is small but the beach is just metres away. This IS NOT a party, night life hotel but somewhere to relax and unwind. There is a problem with ’biters’ and ’mossies’ but not as bad as other places we have stayed. We, as lots of others have done and continue to do so, will return and enjoy the Island Inn. Thank you to Tropical Sky for making our arrangments so well and painlessly.![]()
