What do people say about the Shandrani Resort & Spa in Mauritius, Indian Ocean and Sub Continent?
Just returned from the Hotel. It was all that Gail described, although I think there be more planes than in 2008.
There was a wide selection of food in the main buffet restaurant,although it is helpful if you like spicey food, but it was difficult to get bookings in the others in the evenings, they were often booked out to conference groups using the hotel. Lunch was good at the Porte Veccehio and Sirrus
Lots to do if you are active but also pleasant just to relax near the beach and pool. Good and varied entertainment every night. The sea was the most disappointing, very shallow and hard on the feet with rocks and coral. The hotel recommends wearing shoes!

Shandrani is a very elegant and upmarket five star hotel, offering an excellent all-inclusive package. The rooms are beautifully furnished and the bathrooms are spacious and modern. There are three beaches to choose from, a wild deserted beach, a watersports beach and the popular main beach which is stunning. The spa is beautiful and has a recently completed extension. Its treatments are excellent and also very sensibly priced. The food at Shandrani is superb, accompanied by delicious pre-dinner canapés and perfectly-chilled house champagne. All-in-all the hotel has a very laid-back atmosphere, slick service and attentive staff - a perfect combination for a stress-free holiday. The all-inclusive package here is quite exceptional, and includes a good range of watersports, a snorkelling trip, excellent wines and premium brand spirits, as well as the house champagne - you need not spend any money at all during your stay. One other big plus is the proximity to the airport, while the aircraft noise is minimal and not at night.
