Day 1

Buenos Aires

Arrive into Buenos Aires and transfer to your hotel, situated in the stylish Recoleta neighbourhood. There will be some free time for you to explore at leisure before a welcome reception in the evening.

Day 2

Buenos Aires

Take part in a guided tour of Buenos Aires today, taking in such sights as the Cabildo, the Casa Rosada and the iconic Café Tortoni where you’ll stop for a light snack and a coffee. From here, head to the city’s oldest barrio of San Telmo before enjoying some free time. End the day at Rojo Tango for an exclusive tango show, dinner and drinks.

Day 3

Buenos Aires

Head to the island town of Tigre for a charming cruise over the waters of the Parana Delta, before visiting an authentic estancia (ranch) for a full-day of horseback riding, folk music and dancing. Alternatively, enjoy a tour of the studios of some local artists or visit the Teatro Colón. In the evening, choose from three restaurants for your evening meal.

Day 4

Iguassu Falls

Take a short flight to Iguassu Falls which borders both Argentina and Brazil. You will land on the Argentinean side of the falls and will ride the Rainforest Ecological Train through the dense forest to a series of walkways overlooking the falls. Afterwards, travel into Brazil and on to your hotel, located just a stroll from the falls.

Day 5

Iguassu Falls

Enjoy time on the Brazilian side of the Iguassu National Park, viewing the falls from the base of Devil’s Throat, before heading to the Parque das Aves Bird Park. Afterwards, take a boat ride safari to view the falls before enjoying an afternoon of leisure in Iguassu National Park.

Day 6

Rio de Janeiro

Fly to Rio de Janeiro today and take a cable car to the peak of Sugarloaf Mountain at sunset for phenomenal views. After some time to admire the view, head back down to sample the Caipirinha – Brazil’s national cocktail – and a classic Brazilian BBQ.

Day 7

Rio de Janeiro

Take your pick from a jeep tour through two local favelas or take an excursion to Petrópolis, the Imperial City of Brazil. Alternatively, experience the Botanical Gardens and Tijuca National Park, or take a historical tour of Rio. After your chosen activity, the evening is yours to spend at leisure.

Day 8

Rio de Janeiro

Travel to Corcovado today to see one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, the Christ the Redeemer statue and the views overlooking Rio. In the evening, opt between Italian, a grill restaurant or a samba bar for dinner and live music.

Day 9

Santiago

Board a flight to Santiago and admire the scenery en-route, flanked by the snow-capped Andes Mountains. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy an evening of leisure.

Day 10

Santiago and Valparaíso

Take part in a guided tour of Santiago today and take in the city’s iconic landmarks, including the Plaza de Armas. From here, travel to the seaside city of Valparaiso and stop en-route at a winery in the Casablanca Valley. There will be time for lunch here and a tour of the World-Heritage-listed centre before a drive to the top of the hills for amazing views of the city below. The evening is yours to spend as you like in Santiago.

Day 11

Lima

Begin your Peruvian discovery in Lima with a guided city tour. Included in this will be a visit to the Santo Domingo Monastery where you’ll be treated to a viewing of the carved choir stalls which are the oldest in Lima.

Day 12

Chincheros

After a relaxed breakfast, fly to the city of Cusco and, upon arrival, travel by coach to the city of Chincheros which is set in the Andean highlands. There will be a weaving demonstration and then you’ll be transferred to your hotel which overlooks the Vilcanota River in the Sacred Valley.

Day 13

Sacred Valley

Embark on a full-day tour of the Sacred Valley, beginning in Pisac with a trip to their colourful and vibrant markets. You’ll be treated to an authentic Andean meal with a local family for lunch before heading to the ruins of Ollantaytambo, a former Incan royal estate. Discover the Sacred Valley at your own pace before returning to your hotel for an evening of leisure.

Day 14

Machu Picchu

Board the Vistadome train through the Andean Mountains on your way to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, take off on a guided tour of this iconic landmark before checking in at your hotel in the afternoon.

Day 15

Machu Picchu

Return to Machu Picchu in the morning to explore at your own pace before the crowds arrive. Alternatively, relax and unwind at your hotel. After lunch, head back to Cusco through the mountains and check-in at your hotel.

Day 16

Cusco

Take part in a walking tour of Cusco this morning, ticking off such sights as the Plaza de Armas, the Koricancha and the Santo Domingo Cathedral. Afterwards, enjoy lunch at your choice from three venues.

Day 17

Puno

Board the Andean Explorer for a day-long rail journey to Puno; along the way, you’ll be treated to a three-course lunch.

Day 18

Lake Titicaca

Today will be spent at Lake Titicaca and the surrounding area. In the morning, you’ll travel by speedboat to the village of Liquina where you’ll visit a school to meet with teachers and pupils, and learn about life here. On the Capachica Peninsula, you’ll be treated to a traditional BBQ lunch as you admire the views of the lake. In the afternoon, there will be a cruise to the home of the Uros people.

Day 19

Amazon Cruise

Fly to Iquitos, via Lima, which is set on the Amazon River. You’ll board your river ship for the cruise along the Amazon River, during which you’ll have chance to go piranha fishing and other fun activities.

Day 20

Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve

Keep a lookout for amazing wildlife in the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve, which is filled with diverse species. Afterwards, cruise the El Dorado River and swim with dolphins – an unforgettable experience!

Day 21

Amazon Cruise

Take part in a rainforest hike where you’ll be surrounded by trees that stretch up to 55 metres high! Watch out for the tropical birdlife that includes Red-capped Cardinals and Bluish-fronted Jacamar. You’ll enjoy lunch on-board before travelling by skiff over the Pacaya River as the sun sets. Later on, embark on a night safari where you’ll head out in search of caiman, frogs, fish bats and owls.

Day 22

Iquitos

Board a skiff to Puerto Miguel where you’ll have the opportunity to meet with local villagers and learn more about the way of life here. Later, transfer to Iquitos where you’ll visit the Manatee Rescue Centre. In the afternoon, fly to Lima where you’ll dine overlooking the ruins of Huaca Pucllana.

Day 23

Quito

Fly to Quito today and transfer to your luxury hotel.

Day 24

Quito and Otavalo

Enjoy a guided tour of Quito today then head to Otavalo for a chance to explore the colourful markets and watch the local people weave. Return to Quito later in the day for an evening at leisure.

Day 25

Galápagos Islands Cruise

Fly to Baltra Island in the morning for your cruise around the Galapagos Islands. This is one of the most extraordinary places on earth, with unique wildlife and gorgeous scenery. Upon arrival, transfer to your boutique ship for lunch and then take a Zodiac to Black Turtle Cove on Santa Cruz Island. You’ll explore the serene inlets and coves, where turtles and sharks thrive, and sea birds nest. In the evening, enjoy dinner and a cocktail on the ship as you watch the sun set.

Day 26

Galápagos Islands Cruise

Land at Rabida Island where you’ll be witness to the sea lion colonies and pelican nesting sites which can be found on the red sand beaches. Afterwards, cruise to Puerto Egas on Santiago Island where you can go snorkelling and swimming, as well as looking out for fur sea lions, rays and turtles.

Day 27

Galápagos Islands Cruise

There will be an optional excursion to Tagus Cove on Isabela Island today, where you can take part in a nature hike or go kayaking in the inviting blue waters. Afterwards, you can go dolphin and whale spotting as you cruise for Punta Espinoza to get up close with some of the endemic Galapagos species, including sea lions, marine iguanas and flightless cormorants.

Day 28

Galápagos Islands Cruise

Disembark at Urbina Bay on Isabela Island to watch sea turtles nesting at the base of the Alcedo volcano. Along the way, you may be lucky enough to come across land iguanas, penguins and red or blue-footed boobies. Afterwards, take the opportunity to go deep water snorkelling amongst the marine life or take the Zodiac to Punta Vicente Roca to witness the unique geological rock formations.

Day 29

Galápagos Islands Cruise

Breakfast will be served on-board before you disembark at Puerto Ayora. While you’re here, you can take a tour of the Charles Darwin Research Station to learn about the fascinating research that was conducted here. From here, transfer to the airport for your flight to Guayquil. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner to say goodbye to your group.

Guayaquil
