Day 1


Arrive into Santiago and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the afternoon can be spent exploring the sights on a guided tour, before heading back to the hotel for a welcome reception in the evening.

Day 2


Travel to the charming seaside city of Valparaiso today where you’ll tour the World Heritage-listed centre and be inspired by the picturesque views of the bay. Return to Santiago and take your pick from a selection of restaurants for dinner in the evening.

Day 3

Buenos Aires

This morning, fly to the exciting Argentinean capital of Buenos Aires. You’ll be transferred to your hotel in the stylish Recoleta neighbourhood before enjoying an evening at leisure, to experience the world-renowned nightlife.

Day 4

Buenos Aires

Take a guided tour of Buenos Aires in the morning, with a visit to the Avenida de Mayo which is the avenue that connects to the main downtown square – the Plaza de Mayo. Along the way, you’ll see the Casa Rosada, the Cabildo and the iconic Café Tortoni. Afterwards, you’ll visit the city’s oldest barrio district of San Telmo, with time to wander and window shop. Visit the barrio of La Boca and the Caminito, with its colourful houses, before reaching the parks and tree-lined streets of Palermo. In the evening, take your pick from three restaurants for dinner.

Day 5

Buenos Aires

Head to the island town of Tigre today where you’ll enjoy a cruise of the Parana Delta, or explore the Parisian influences on the city with a guided walking tour. Alternatively, you may prefer to visit the Teatro Colón or take a fun tango lesson to learn how to perform Argentina’s national dance. Enjoy some free time afterwards before heading to the Rojo Tango for dinner, drinks and a tango show.

Day 6

Rio de Janeiro

Fly to Rio de Janeiro today which is a breath-taking city lapped by azure waters and enveloped by rainforests and mountains. Famous for its exhilarating atmosphere and pulsing rhythm, Rio is a city unlike any other.

Day 7

Rio de Janeiro

Travel to Corcovado today which is a mountain famous for the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue – synonymous with Rio and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. You’ll visit the statue and travel to the peal of the platform for amazing views overlooking Rio, Copacabana Beach and Sugarloaf Mountain. As the sun sets, you can take a wonderful cable car ride to the peak of Sugarloaf Mountain which is located at the mouth of Guanabara Bay, before heading to Porcão Rio’s for some Caipirinhas – Brazil’s national cocktail. Dine on traditional Brazilian BBQ then head back to the hotel.

Day 8

Rio de Janeiro

In the morning, choose from a choice of sightseeing activities, including a tour through the local favelas (the Brazilian term for shanty towns), a full-day excursion to the nearby Petrópolis, a visit to the Botanical Gardens and Tijuca National Park on a jeep tour, or a historical city tour. In the evening, unwind at leisure, giving you the chance to experience the buzzing nightlife in Rio.

Day 9

Iguassu Falls

Take a short flight to Iguassu Falls – a colossal series of waterfalls which border Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina. You’ll view the falls from the base of Devil’s Throat before taking an unforgettable boat ride safari which journeys beneath the cascades. In the evening, dine at the hotel.

Day 10

Iguassu Falls

Today you’ll visit the Argentine side of the falls, riding the Rainforest Ecological Train through the dense foliage to a series of walkways and viewing points. In the afternoon, you’ll return to your hotel which is just a short walk from the falls.

Day 11

Iguassu Park and Lima

You’ll visit the Parque das Aves Bird Park today, giving you the opportunity to get close to a range of native South American birds such as macaws, flamingos and parrots, and a variety of toucan species. In the evening, you’ll fly to your starting point for the Peruvian portion of your trip – Lima.

Day 12


In the morning, fly to the city of Cusco – a World Heritage Site and the historic capital of the Inca Empire. Upon arrival, journey through the city by coach to the city of Chincheros which is situated high in the Andean highlands. You’ll learn how the colourful fabrics of South America are made with a weaving demonstration, before settling in at your hotel which overlooks the Sacred Valley.

Day 13

Sacred Valley

Take part in a full day tour of the Sacred Valley, beginning with the markets of Pisac – a hilltop village which is located near ancient Incan ruins. Later on, you’ll visit a local family to sample a traditional Andean meal and interact with these people to learn their way of life. Travel from here to the archeological site of Ollantaytambo to spend time discovering more of the Sacred Valley.

Day 14

Machu Picchu

Take the Vistadome train to Machu Picchu, admiring the picturesque vistas along the way. Upon arrival, you’ll take part in a guided tour of the site, which is situated 2400m above sea level and is synonymous with the Incas. This is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most recognisable icons of the Incan world.

Day 15

Machu Picchu and Cusco

Beat the morning rush to Machu Picchu this morning and experience the serene atmosphere surrounding this iconic citadel. If you’d rather, you can relax in the hotel before boarding the Vistadome again for your return trip to the Sacred Valley. From here, transfer back to Cusco and admire the panoramic scenery along the way.

Day 16


Take part in a walking tour of Cusco in the morning which will take you to the historic heart of the city – the Plaza de Armas – as well as the sacred sites of the Cusco Cathedral and the Koricancha. From here, you can choose from three restaurants for lunch and then explore the city at leisure.

Day 17

Lake Titicaca

Board the Andean Explorer this morning for a day-long rail journey into the highlands to Puno, which is almost 4000m above sea level. The scenery is dominated by the Andes Mountains and the valleys below. You’ll later reach the Andean Plains and then Puno, where you’ll check into your hotel by the lake.

Day 18

Lake Titicaca

Situated on the border of Peru and Bolivia, Lake Titicaca is the highest altitude lake in the world, at 3800m above sea level. In the morning, you’ll travel by speedboat to the village of Liquina to visit a school project and meet with teachers and students. Enjoy a lunch overlooking views of the Capachica Peninsula, before embarking on a cruise to the home of the Uros people to embrace the traditions of these pre-Incan people.

Day 19


Fly back to Lima today and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, there will be a guided city tour where you’ll visit a World Heritage-listed Historic Centre of Lima and the Convent of Santo Domingo, which is one of the best preserved monasteries in the city. End the day with a farewell dinner at a unique venue, situated within the ruins of an archaeological compound built between 200 and 700 AD.

After breakfast, your South America journey concludes with a transfer to Lima airport for your onward flight.
