Enjoy a taste of the laidback island lifestyle

Everyone dreams of escaping to an island oasis, living out their days relaxing on a sugary sand beach, snorkelling amongst colourful marine life, tucking into fresh fruit and sipping a coconut that’s just fallen from the trees. This dream comes to life in Tahiti, a beautiful destination where you can do as much or as little as you please.

Tahiti consists of five archipelagos – the Society Islands, Tuamotu Islands, Gambier Islands, Marquesas Islands and Austral Islands. All are jaw-droppingly beautiful and most uninhabited, but those that come here to seek a relaxing holiday are best to stick to the Society Islands: including the unspoilt oasis of Bora Bora and Moorea.

With such stunning, crystal clear waters, it’ll come as no surprise that Tahiti is a water sport enthusiast’s haven. Wander down to the beach and there’s no doubt you’ll see a couple paddle boarding together in the distance or sailing along the still lagoon in an outrigger canoe. There’s just as much activity on land and in the air too, including paragliding over the luscious mountains, ziplining, and even a round of golf.

Tahiti is well-known for being a popular honeymoon destination, and with its secluded beaches, luxurious overwater bungalows and stunning sunsets, it’s easy to see why. Walking along the powdery sands as the sun starts to dip below the horizon is as romantic as it gets, especially when your stroll ends with a dinner under the stars.

This sun-doused destination is bursting with life. Two extinct volcanoes and a collection of soaring mountains are shrouded in thick green forest and stretches of beach are covered in either white or volcanic black sands, all fringed by stunning coral reefs and low-lying atolls. The fresh food is plentiful too, with incredibly juicy pineapples, mangoes and breadfruit paired with suckling pig and Tahitian style chicken cooked with fafa (local spinach). In the evenings, the coastline comes to life with local music and dancing. Experiencing Tahiti is nothing short of magical.
