Take the ferry from Santorini (Thira) to Crete (Heraklion), which takes approximately two hours.
Known as the birthplace of Minoan civilisation, home to ancient Greeks, Crete is brimming with history. We highly recommend a visit to Europe’s oldest city, the Palace of Knossos, the birthplace of Europe’s oldest civilisations. One of the best Greek ruins. If history isn’t for you, try out the numerous blue flag beaches, luxurious resorts and fabulous traditional tavernas offering authentic Greek cuisine.
