Day 1


Upon arrival into Lima, transfer to your hotel and enjoy a welcome reception later in the evening.

Day 2


 Fly to Cusci and then travel through the city to Chincheros; you’ll watch a traditional weaving demonstration where you’ll learn how the colourful fabrics of South America are created.

Day 3

Sacred Valley

Today sees you embark on a full day of sightseeing with a tour in and around the Sacred Valley, beginning in Pisac and including a traditional Andean meal with a local family. Afterwards, head to Ollantaytambo to explore the spectacular ruins.

Day 4

Machu Picchu

Take the Vistadome train and pass through striking Andean landscape on your way to the icon of South America – Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, set off on a guided tour with a local expert then return to the town and to your Andean-style hotel.

Day 5

Machu Picchu

Wake early and head to the Incan citadel of Machu Picchu for a second opportunity to explore ahead of the crowds. In the afternoon, board PeruRail’s Vistadome once more and head back to Cusco.

Day 6


Embark on a walking tour of Cusco today, soaking up the delights of the Plaza de Armas, which is the heart of Cusco and steeped in history. You’ll also visit the Incan site of Koricancha and Santo Domingo. From here, choose from three restaurants for your lunch.

Day 7


Board the Andean Explorer for a day of rail travel into the highlands and on to Puno; you’ll travel through the Andes Mountains which impose over the valleys below. En-route, you’ll be treated to a three-course lunch as you admire the surrounding views.

Day 8

Lake Titicaca

Following a delicious breakfast, travel by speedboat to the village of Liquina to visit a local school. From here, take lunch on the Capachica Peninsula and take in the views before cruising across Lake Titicaca to the home of the Uros people.

Day 9


Take a flight to Lima in the morning and take part in a guided tour which stops off at the catacombs of the monastery, the Basilica Cathedral of Lima and the Archbishop Palace. In the evening, enjoy dinner at Huaca Pucllana which is enveloped by ruins of an archaeological compound.

Day 10


After breakfast, fly to Santiago and enjoy the evening at leisure. The capital of Chile, this area is flanked by the Andes and is a truly beautiful location.

Day 11

Santiago/ Valparaíso

Take a guided tour of Santiago to explore the historic centre, including the Plaza de Armas, then travel to the seaside city of Valparaiso for lunch and a tour. Take a scenic drive along the steep hills which surround the city before returning to Santiago for relaxing evening of free time.

Day 12

Rio de Janeiro

Fly to Rio de Janeiro and enjoy some free time, exploring the city at your own pace. Take a cable car to the peak of Sugarloaf Mountain at sunset to take in the panoramic views overlooking the city, before heading to Porcão Rio’s for a Brazilian BBQ and a Caipirinha – Brazil’s national cocktail.

Day 13

Rio de Janeiro

Today’s activities depend on what you’re in the mood to see! Choose between a tour through two friendly local favelas, a full-day excursion to Petrópolis, a jeep tour through Tijuca National Park and the Botanical Gardens, or a historic tour of Rio. In the evening, enjoy some free time.

Day 14

Rio de Janeiro

Travel to Corcovado today which is the site of the famous Christ the Redeemer statue – one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. You’ll have the opportunity to travel the platform to its peak to enjoy amazing views of the city and surrounding scenery. In the evening, choose from three restaurants for dinner.

Day 15

Iguassu Falls

Fly to Iguassu Falls today, which is located on the border of Argentina and Brazil. Be amazed by the sheer enormity of the falls and the beautiful surrounding flora, then visit the Parque das Aves Bird Park and take a Boat Ride Safari at the falls.

Day 16

Iguassu Falls

Cross into Argentina today to view the falls from the other side, riding the Rainforest Ecological Train through the forest to a number of walkways and viewpoints, including one over the 82 metre-high Devil’s Throat.

Day 17

Buenos Aires

Board a flight to Buenos Aires this morning and transfer to your hotel upon arrival. Enjoy some free time to explore the capital before choosing from three restaurants for dinner.

Day 18

Buenos Aires

Today sees you tour Buenos Aires and heading to the iconic Café Tortoni for a coffee and empanadas. Afterwards, head to some of the city’s highlights such as the Caminito, San Telmo, La Recoleta Cemetery and La Boca. In the evening, watch a fun tango show with dinner and drinks.

Day 19

Buenos Aires

Today you can choose from a number of activities, including a visit to the island town of Tigre to cruise over the Parana Delta, a visit to an estancia (ranch) for a day of folk music and horseback riding, a tour of the Teatro Colón or visiting some of the local artists’ studios. After your chosen activity, the rest of the day is yours to spend as you wish.

Day 20


Fly to Ushuaia and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, take a tour of the Tierra del Fuego National Park which is situated at the southern-most tip of South America.

Day 21

Antarctic Cruise

Spend the morning at leisure before boarding the Sea Explorer in the afternoon. Spend some time getting to know the vessel and the onboard facilities, before enjoying welcome drinks and dinner with your fellow passengers and crew in the evening.

Day 22

Drake Passage

The Drake Passage connects the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, between Cape Horn and the South Shetland Islands. This is one of the highlights of your Antarctic journey and a renowned part of the region.

Day 23

Drake Passage

Watch a series of fun presentations on everything Antarctic, from the history of this area to the endemic wildlife found here, as you cross the Antarctic Convergence. You’ll notice the distinct drop in temperature as you set sail through the Antarctic Ocean.

Day 24 -28

South Shetland Islands

Over the next few days you’ll explore the stunning South Shetland Islands, where around 90 per cent of the landscape is permanently glaciated. You’ll also cruise along the remote Antarctic Peninsula which is the northern-most portion of mainland Antarctica and has the mildest climate.

The wildlife viewing in this part of the world is fantastic, offering you the chance to see some species which are rarely seen, including Gentoo, chinstrap and adelie penguin rookeries. While you’re here, you’ll also see seals and whales, including orca, humpback and minke whales. The landing sites will vary depending on the weather, but there will be plenty of time to admire and enjoy the scenery. On day 28, you’ll spend your last day in this area exploring the landscapes.

Day 29

Drake Passage/ Cape Horn

Head north today, crossing the Drake Passage, and enjoy some time to relax on the deck to reflect on your trip.

Drake Passage/Cape Horn

Return to Ushuaia today on Argentina’s mainland.
