If you'd like to be a part of this small group adventure, cruising on a unique teak wood boat along the Chao Phraya River, cycling around the UNESCO Ayutthaya Historical Park, exploring Bangkok by night on a Tuk Tuk and enjoying special dinners every evening.

ITINERARY:

Friday - Arrive in Bangkok
Transfer to your chosen hotel and enjoy a traditional hosted dinner.

Saturday - Bangkok
Enjoy a gentle guided bike tour of Bangkok at a very relaxed pace, so that you can enjoy both the ride and the surroundings (included but optional). Visit a Buddhist temple, take a short long tail boat trip and stop by a local school. In the evening you will take a private Tuk Tuk tour, exploring Bangkok's markets, temples and food under the night lights - the stop at the Flower Market is particularly striking as the vivid colours come alive under the florescent lights. En route sample some of the best food of the city from the local food stalls.

Sunday - Bangkok - Ayutthaya
Travel to Ayutthaya visiting the Elephant Kraal Pavilion, then explore the UNESCO Ayutthaya Historical Park on a bike tour. Continue to Thanatharee, a unique teak wooden boat, and enjoy an authentic Thai lunch on board, while you cruise along the river. This evening enjoy a delicious dinner on board.

Monday - Ayutthaya - River Kwai
After breakfast take a bike ride to a local village to discover their way of life. Then after lunch onboard the boat, visit Bang Pa In, the former summer residence of the kings of Ayutthaya built in the 18th century. Continue to the River Kwai and then take a long tail boat from the pier to get to Float House River Kwai, passing by unspoiled mountainous jungle scenery. This evening enjoy dinner and Mon dances.

Tuesday - River Kwai
After breakfast, take a boat trip upstream to visit the beautiful Sai Yoke Yai Waterfall & National Park. Lunch at a local restaurant, then board a train to travel Death Railway along the original wooden viaducts, visiting the Allied War Cemetery and War Museum. Return to the resort for a relaxing dinner.

Wednesday - River Kwai - Bangkok - Chiang Mai
Transfer back to Bangkok and then fly to Chiang Mai. This evening you will experience a Kon Toke dinner, featuring a succession of Northern Thai specialities, whilst you are entertained by traditional dancers. After dinner there will be a special hill tribe show, a fascinating insight into the different tribe's appearance and costume.

Thursday - Chiang Mai
Today you can either explore the fascinating city at your own pace or take a full day trip to the Elephant Nature Park (additional cost approximately £80pp). Or you can simply take time to relax at the peaceful riverside hotel.

Friday - Chiang Mai departure
For the early birds, an opportunity to observe the alms giving to the monks - a tradition which has been handed down through Buddhism for thousands of years. After breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight home. *Alternatively we can arrange a beach extension at one of our wide range of hotels.
