We are currently recruiting for Sales staff for our luxury programmes. Product training is ongoing in the designated area, to ensure the person is able to give excellent advice to our clients. Regular familiarisation trips will take place each year, so our destination specialists have current first-hand knowledge of the destination. We also offer full in-house training in our modern offices or on line.
Flexibility is paramount to cover a variety of shifts that primarily finish at 7pm and weekends. Twilight shifts are also available. You must be a UK or Irish citizen or have the right to live and work in the UK or Ireland.

Commercial Executive

Salary: £22,500-23,000 (subject to experience)                                                                          
Location: East Grinstead, West Sussex   

Start Date: Immediate

The Role:

Reporting to the Commercial Analyst, supporting the Product & Commercial team. With responsibility for the loading and maintenance of hotel contracts and special offers, plus other key commercial tasks in a fast-paced long haul travel environment, this role is central to the success of this family run tour operator.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the loading of hotel, touring and ground inventory on the reservations system, ensuring completely accurate and fully functional
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory, loading stop sale notifications and rectifying issues
  • Support the sales teams with product and commercial queries
  • Liaising with suppliers in the UK and overseas to ensure clear understanding and accurate loading of all contracts and inventory updates
  • Maintenance of accurate product information within the reservation system including touring itineraries and hotel descriptions
  • Support maintenance of website information, promotional messaging, imagery and accuracy
  • Administrative support for product management team as needed to ensure all product is effectively contracted and maintained
  • Support the delivery and connectivity of API links with external accommodation and touring suppliers into the reservation system, ensuring all product is fully and effectively mapped
  • Adhoc data entry and inventory system support on business projects as required

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Previous knowledge of travel reservations systems advantageous but not essential
  • Strong communication skills, with good understanding of English language both oral and written
  • Numerate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Good knowledge of world geography advantageous
  • Good interpersonal skills and an outgoing, approachable personality
  • Ability to work in a busy and pressured environment and experience in achieving and exceeding set targets

Product Executive                  

Salary: £22,500-£28,000      

Location: East Grinstead, West Sussex   

Start Date: Immediate

The Role:                        

Reporting into the Programme Director, with responsibility of one defined geographical area and supporting the commercial performance and product management of all areas in general.  The successful candidate on this region will be expected to provide strong sales support in training and support product team in all aspects of programme development.

Focus region: Tailor-made (USA/Canada/Asia/Australasia/Latin America/Africa)

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the Programme Director in new product development, including sourcing copy and images, and assisting with web presentation
  • Maintain hotel & destination descriptions on all company websites within region, including hotel information, special offers and key messages
  • Support the marketing team with provision product briefs, images, content and offers, assist with sign off and approval of marketing and web activity
  • Provide Sales support with product and commercial queries
  • Brief sales on key product offers and opportunities to drive sales on an ongoing basis
  • Ensure loaded inventory and pricing is up to date across the region, and providing pricing support as needed
  • Maintain and react to competitor analysis on all featured product
  • Collate and distribute monthly stats reports
  • Assist in resolution of any reservations, accounts or customer services issues
  • Drive and support the delivery of agreed regional targets, working with colleagues to achieve company goals
  • Support trading needs of all other geographical areas on an adhoc basis

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Previous product and/ or commercial experience in a tour operator role
  • Good product knowledge ideally of North America/Asia/Australasia
  • Good communication skills
  • Numerate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent understanding and application of English language both oral and written
  • Excellent attention to detail

Specialist Travel Consultant
Salary: Up to £30k OTE
Location: East Grinstead

The Role:

As a Specialist Travel Consultant at Tropical Sky, you will get the opportunity to recommend, build and sell tailor-made holidays.

You will have the opportunity to travel on educational trips to learn more about the destinations & products you will be selling.

You will be included in Sales Incentives. Previous top sellers have achieved spaces on trips to Barcelona, Tenerife, Amsterdam, Venice, Dubai, Las Vegas, St Lucia and Mauritius.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receiving customer enquiries by telephone and email to book holidays
  • Making outbound calls to previous customers to advise and assist on holiday choices
  • Follow up on all quotes made
  • Assist colleagues’ customers as required
  • Aim to achieve company conversion required per destination
  • Balance chasing as required
  • Attend shows, functions, familiarisation trips, and workshops as required.

  • A strong sales background

Home Based Experienced Sales Destinations Specialists
Salary: Excellent Commission Only Uncapped Package
Location: Home based so anywhere in the UK or Ireland (requirement is good broadband connection)

The Ideal Candidate:
You must have a minimum of 2 years travel sales experience and a genuine passion for success. You must have a genuine desire to provide the perfect holiday for our customers. You will receive ongoing industry leading training as well the opportunity to travel.

The Role:

  •     Receiving customer enquiries by telephone and email to book holidays
  •     Making outbound calls to previous customer to advise and assist on holiday choices
  •     Follow up on all quotes made
  •     Assist colleagues’ customers as required
  •     Aim to achieve company conversion required per destination
  •     Balance chasing as required

Sales Support Consultant (Concierge)

The Role:

As a member of the Concierge team at Tropical Sky, you will get the opportunity to amend, upsell and assist customers with worldwide tailored-made holidays.

You will be the primary contact for existing customers, offering support mainly post booking but also prior to booking to assist sales specialists who are on annual leave.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to customers at the quote stage in the absence of the Sales Consultant. Specifically ongoing quote replies and processing of any bookings in absence of the quote owner
  • Manage customers post booking with questions and booking amendments, including upselling.
  • Communicate with overseas suppliers to facilitate amendments
  • Assist with out-of-date range bookings where air or ground changes are commercially or logistically required
  • Assist with schedule changes
  • Support with client balance chasing
  • Take calls during peak times

Skills and Experience Needed:

  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Desire to seek opportunities to upsell products & services.
  • Good understanding of the English language both oral and written
  • Good attention to detail
  • Prior Travel background is a huge advantage
