Beryl shares her Tobago holiday story

Beryl travelled to Tobago and stayed at the Coco Reef Resort. Here's what she had to say:

coco reef tobago beach and hotel

My holiday in Tobago in 2015 lived up to my expectations but as I had visited the island several times before this was no surprise.

Having previously visited other Caribbean resorts in St. Lucia, Antigua, Barbados, Mexico and Grenada we expected a relaxing time when we first visited in 2001. The Coco Reef Resort lived up to its claims - great beach, fantastic food and friendly but professional staff and this is why we then recommended the island and the hotel to a number of friends and relations who have also been 'repeat visitors'. The general manager at Coco Reef - Eric Feniet - keeps a close eye on his staff who always have time to exchange friendly conversation and enlighten us on special places on their island. Eric ensures his clients have what they need to enjoy their holiday.

We have always felt safe walking around the local area whilst a hire car or taxi makes visiting various places of interest easy. One of my favourite places is Charlotteville - a fishing village full of authentic charm. Go early in the day to see the catch brought in to be sold at the local co-op fish kiosk and with wonderful views to its well worth the trip to the top of the island. For total peace and quiet take a drive to Englishman's Bay - take a picnic or better still eat some authentic food from the shack on the beach - excellent. There is plenty to do and wonderful wild life to see with a night trip to Turtle Beach is essential if you have the opportunity - watch a leatherback turtle lay her eggs before heaving herself down the beach and then silently slip back into the sea until the next time - a breath taking sight!

I could carry on extolling the virtues of this wonderful island but guess the fact I have returned many times speaks for itself. The moment the aircraft doors open the excitement begins and continues throughout the stay.
