Get ready to immerse yourself in France’s breath-taking waters of Garonne, Dordogne, and Gironde. Bordeaux derived from the French word au bord de l’eau which means along the waters, provides the perfect backdrop for wines and cultural explorations.

Whilst discovering the gems of this region which include Fort Médoc, Cadillac, Blaye and Libourne you will have the pleasure to enjoy 7 nights aboard S.S. Bon Voyage. The S.S. Bon Voyage is one of the newest Super Ships has been designed to immerse guests in French culture, with its stunning lobby clad in polished wood, to the stylish emerald tones found in bar Le Salon Champagne, inspired by Yves Saint Laurent’s personal villa. Day 1
Bordeaux

Fly to Bordeaux-Mérignac International Airport where you’ll be greeted by your Uniworld rep and transferred to Bordeaux port to embark this afternoon making a stress-free start to your magnificent cruise ahead.

Day 2
Blaye, Bourg sur Gironde

Sailing north of Bordeaux along to Blaye, a quaint commune in Gironde where you’ll have a leisurely walking tour through Bourg sur Girone. You can also have of two excursions a visit to the Panoramas of the Route de la Corniche Fleurie, a scenic and beautiful road with picturesque hamlets and stilted fishing huts lined along limestone cliffs. On this tour, journey towards the impressive UNESCO listed Citadelle de Blaye (Blaye Fortress), a maze of stone walls, each level a walls height higher than the next to make up the historic military fortification looking over the estuary. Your other choice of excursion is an intimate experience with a local win and art connoisseur – because of course you have to in the Bordeaux region!

Dine this evening with a special Captain’s Welcome Reception and Dinner.

Day 3
Cussac Fort Médoc

Today is all about the renowned Médoc region with its reputable wine chateaux and impressively extensive vineyards. With a beautiful backdrop have a choice of a private wine tasting at Médoc Chateaux or biking through the Médoc vineyards. You will also have the chance as some fresh Médoc oyster tasting whilst you’re here.

Day 4
Cadillac

Sailing this stretch of Garonne you will arrive at Cadillac, a place known for its gorgeous dessert wines. During your time here you can have the choice of excursions of a private owner’s tour of the Royal Chateau de Cazeneuve, a 14th century fortress and favoured residence of Henry IV. After your intimate visit you will meet Louis and Caroline de Sabran-Pontevès, the owner and his wife for a Sauternes toast, sampling the unique perfume and flavour of the area. Your other choice is a tour of the Chateau Malromé and learning the history of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and his post-impressionist pieces. After, you’ll be treated to an absinthe tasting at Café les Pèlerins.

Please be advised that that the sailing along Garonne depends on the tides. If it’s not possible to sale to Cadillac, you will be transferred to your chosen destinations by coach.

Day 5
Libourne (Saint-Émilion)

The medieval town of Saint Émilion is a perfect place for leisurely meandering through its cobbled streets, dressed with boulangeries and speciality wines. Your walking tour guides you through these passages and stopping by to admire the church that stretches beneath the city’s streets. At the end of your tour, you will be walking underground to the cellars of a Grand Cru estate to sample the world’s most highly rated wines.

Day 6
Libourne, Bordeaux

The beating heart of the region’s impeccable cuisine is the town of Lisbourne. A rich agricultural land and the chance to browse, sample and purchase produce at the farmer’s market. See the delicious seasonal fruits, browse the stalls for cheese, flowers, bread and meats. Not only that, you will have the chance to be invited into some of the homes of the ateliers meeting the artisans who make the local goods.

Day 7
Bordeaux

See Bordeaux in detail today as you discover the city’s charm. You can have the choice of exploring the streets either by foot or by bike! You will visit the Cité Du Vin Museum – which you don’t need to be an expert in French to read this as the Museum of Wine. Stop by the concierge to pick up a few drink tickets, then head out on your own to visit one of the city’s wine bars and see first-hand how the wines of the many local châteaux are enjoyed by today’s sophisticated clients.

This evening, a special Captain’s Farewell Reception and Dinner will be prepared for you.

Day 8
Disembark the ship and transfer to the airport taking you home after your wonderful experience of the S.S Bon Voyage and what Bordeaux has to offer!
