Day 1

Arrival in Yogyakarta

Upon landing at Yogyakarta airport, you will meet your guide for a private air-conditioned transfer to your hotel (approx 1.5 hours) in the Borobudur area.

Day 2

Borobudur & Candirejo Village

An early start for today as you head out before sunrise to visit the incredible Borobudur temple complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which is home to the world’s single largest Buddha monument, and is classed to be one of the most impressive sights in the whole of South East Asia. You will have ample time to explore before heading to Candirejo, a peaceful village adorned by lush scenery and beautiful plantations. Here, you will learn about harvesting and take part in a host of local activities. Today’s excursion will end with a lesson in Indonesian Gamelan music and some lunch. The rest of the day is to spend at your leisure.

Day 3

Full Day Yogyakarta Tour with Kris-Marker

You’ll start your day at 8am with a visit to a traditional Kris-Maker; listed by UNESCO as a “Masterpiece of Intangible Heritage of Humanity”, the Kris is an asymmetrical dagger which have been produced in Indonesia for centuries, said to be vessels of spirits. You will then drive to Yogyakarta and visit the Kraton, the sultan’s palace by cycle rickshwa. Afterwards, you’ll visit the Ratu Boko archaeological site followed by a trip to the most active volcano in Indonesia, Mount Merapi. Continue to Prambanan Temple Complex, one of the largest and most beautiful Hindu temple complexes in the country. Return to Yogyakarta for your overnight stay.

Day 4

Mojokerto - Bromo

Begin today with a transfer to Yogyakarta Railway Station to catch a morning train to the volcano-dotted terrain of Mojokerto. From here, you’ll be met by a local representative and driven to the Bromo area – this journey should take around 3.5-4 hours. Upon arrival in Bromo, you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 5

Mount Bromo -Madakaripura Waterfall – Bali

Today involves a very early start at 3 am as you travel by private jeep to the rim of Mount Penenjakan in time for dawn. From here, you’ll witness phenomenal sunrise views over the stunning landscapes of Mount Bromo, Mount Batok and Mount Semeru. You’ll then return to your jeep for a steep descent to the bottom of the volcano, drive over the Laotian Pasir and then to the base of Mount Bromo. Later, return to your hotel for breakfast.

Before flying over to Bali Island, you will visit the 200-metre Madakaripura Waterfall located in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Continue onto Surayaba Airport to board your flight. Upon arrival in Bali, you will be transferred to your hotel in Ubud, which should take around an hour and a half. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 6

Ubud & Monkey Forest Tour

Your day will begin with a stop at three villages near Ubud; Mas, Celuk and Tohpati, all well-known for their arts and crafts. You’ll then visit Gunung Kawi, a Hindu temple complex located in Northeast Ubud which comprises of ten rock-cut shrines carved into the cliff face. We recommend taking a walk around the lush surrounding area for views across the beautifully terraced rice fields.

Proceed on to the village of Kintamani, where you can admire wonderful views over Mount Batur before enjoying a buffet lunch with views overlooking the volcano.

On your return journey, make a stop at Goa Gajah, known as the Elephant Cave in Bedulu. Your last stop is Ubud Monkey Forest, home to more than one hundred species of trees, interesting temples and lots of Macaque Monkeys.

Day 7

Ubud - Ayung River

Drive a short distance to the White Water Rafting venue, where you’ll enjoy an exhilarating two-hour rafting adventure on the Ayung River. After refreshing for a while, you’ll meet with a local food specialist and drive to a traditional Balinese house in the outskirts of Ubud; Here, you’ll learn how to make an authentic island dish before heading to a local Warung to try a popular local beverage named Cendol. Next, you’ll stroll through the famous Gianyar Night Market before ending the evening at a local bamboo restaurant near Ubud.

Day 8

Ubud – Taman Ayun – Tanah Lot – Seminyak

This morning will start with a gentle stroll through central Ubud; pass through the bustling local market and take a visit to the beautiful Ubud Palace, where the local royal family currently reside. You will have some free time to explore the town centre before heading towards central Bali to the small town of Mengkwi, home to the fascinating temple complex at Taman Ayun. Your final destination of today will be Tanah Lot, offering a spectacular location, this area is famous for it’s sea temple located offshore in the Indian Ocean. Only accessible at low tide, the extremely sacred temple features a fresh water spring said to contain holy water. You’ll have the chance to watch the stunning sunset before heading to Seminyak.

Day 10

Bali – Komodo

After an early breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport to catch a flight to the island of Flores. On arrival at Mutiara Airport and transfer to the harbour, where you will board a boat for Komodo National Park. Spend some time on one of the beautiful, pristine beaches, and perhaps you may want to go snorkelling or scuba diving in the clear waters to explore the abundant marine life this area is popular for. Afterwards, you’ll proceed to Rinca Island to explore a wealth of wildlife including deer, horses, buffaloes, pigs, birds and komodos.

Your night will be spent in a fully-equipped private cabin aboard a boat, anchored off the island of Kalong or Flying Fox Island. Every evening at 18:00 Thousands of fruit bats go out in search of their food to the nearby island of Flores. Moor off the island to see this magnificent spectacle of these unique creatures flying overhead.

Day 11

Komodo National Park

After breakfast, start early with a walk to Banunggulung to spot Komodo Dragons, the largest lizard in the world. You’ll then sail to the unique Pantai Merah, featuring beautiful pink sands and rare breeds of sea life in the crystalline blue waters. After a lunch on board, you’ll continue sailing to Kanawa Island where you’ll spend some time on the powdery white sand beaches before enjoying a snorkelling excursion and a rich marine ecosystem.

The boat will moor off the island for dinner and overnight.

Day 12

Labuan Bajo – Return to Bali – Uluwatu Temple & Kecak Dance

This morning you will cruise back to Labuan Bajo to visit the market and take a short tour to Batu Cermin Cave (time permitting). Upon arrival in Bali, your local guide will take you to the Uluwatu Temple, set atop a steep cliff offering unparalleled views over the Indian Ocean. One of today’s highlights will be the opportunity to watch a traditional Kecak Dance display, followed by a wonderful evening meal by the beach to end the day.

Day 13

Departure

Today you will be collected from the hotel for the transfer to Denpasar airport. Upon arrival, check in for your return flight home.

For the onboard activity in Labuan Bajo, we suggest you travel between end of April to October, this is the best time to sail due to the weather being more stable. The sea is generally calmer and very clear and animals are active. Please note, sailing itineraries and daily programs are subject to change due to weather and sea conditions, availability of safe anchorage, government regulations and other factors. Whilst every effort will be made to carry out the programme as planned, please note that changes may take place during the cruise to take advantage of local cultural events, to adapt to sailing conditions, or in response to other factors.

Please remember that Komodo Dragons are dangerous wild animals that can exhibit unpredictable behavior. Always listen to the advice of your park ranger.
It is very important that you tell the boat crew and park rangers if you either have any cuts or open wounds or are a woman on your menstrual cycle. In some cases, you may be advised not to go ashore at Komodo or Rinca islands.
