Day 1

Tokyo

Kon'nichiwa! Welcome to Japan! On arrival at Tokyo Haneda Airport, you'll be transfered to your hotel.

The rest of the day is yours to settle in and start exploring this remarkable city. Wander the bright streets of Ginza, enjoy your first taste of authentic Japanese cuisine or simply soak up the atmosphere as you begin your adventure.

Days 2-3

Explore Tokyo

Two full days give you plenty of time to discover Japan's vibrant capital using your hop-on hop-off sightseeing bus pass.

Visit the historic Asakusa district and the impressive Senso-ji Temple, admire the peaceful Meiji Shrine, browse the colourful shops and cafés of Harajuku or experience the famous Shibuya Crossing. Tokyo is a city of fascinating contrasts, where tranquil gardens and ancient shrines sit alongside soaring skyscrapers and neon-lit streets.

Day 4

Tokyo to Hakone

Today you'll travel by rail to the mountain resort of Hakone, one of Japan's most scenic regions.

Famous for its natural hot springs, volcanic landscapes and spectacular views of Mount Fuji, Hakone offers a welcome change of pace after the energy of Tokyo. Spend the afternoon relaxing or begin exploring with a Hakone Free Pass.

Day 5

Hakone

Enjoy a full day at leisure in Hakone.

Cruise across Lake Ashi, ride the Hakone Ropeway over dramatic volcanic scenery, visit the renowned Open-Air Museum or simply unwind in a traditional onsen. If the weather is clear, you'll have the opportunity to admire unforgettable views of Mount Fuji.

Day 6

Hakone to Kyoto

Board one of Japan's famous bullet trains as you continue to Kyoto, the country's former imperial capital.

After checking into your hotel, spend the rest of the day discovering Kyoto at your own pace. Stroll through atmospheric streets lined with traditional wooden houses, browse local boutiques or enjoy dinner in one of Japan's finest culinary cities.

Day 7

Highlights of Kyoto

Today's sightseeing tour introduces you to some of Kyoto's most iconic landmarks.

Visit the magnificent Tenryu-ji Temple before walking through the enchanting Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. Continue to the shimmering Golden Pavilion of Kinkaku-ji and finish at the striking Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, famous for its seemingly endless pathway of bright red torii gates.

Day 8

Kyoto at leisure

Today is free for you to explore more of Kyoto independently.

Perhaps wander through the historic Gion district, where traditional teahouses and elegant wooden buildings evoke old Japan, sample local delicacies at Nishiki Market or discover one of the city's many peaceful temples and gardens.

Day 9

Kyoto to Hiroshima

Travel by bullet train to Hiroshima.

Now a vibrant and welcoming city, Hiroshima is also a place of great historical significance. Spend the afternoon visiting the Peace Memorial Park and Atomic Bomb Dome or enjoy the city's lively restaurant scene and famous okonomiyaki.

Day 10

Miyajima

This morning join a half-day walking tour to the sacred island of Miyajima.

One of Japan's most beautiful destinations, the island is home to the iconic floating torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine, friendly wild deer and picturesque walking trails. Return to Hiroshima later in the day with free time to continue exploring.

Day 11

Hiroshima to Osaka

Continue your journey to Osaka, Japan's energetic second city.

Known as the nation's kitchen, Osaka is celebrated for its outstanding food, lively entertainment districts and welcoming atmosphere. Spend the evening exploring Dotonbori, where colourful neon lights, bustling restaurants and street food stalls create one of Japan's most exciting cityscapes.

Day 12

Discover Osaka

Today's included walking tour takes you to one of the city's most famous landmarks, Osaka Castle.

After exploring the castle and its impressive grounds, enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. You may wish to browse the shops of Shinsaibashi, visit the aquarium or simply indulge in more of Osaka's exceptional cuisine.

Day 13

Depart Osaka

Enjoy your final morning in Japan before your transfer takes you to the Airport for your flight home.

If you're not quite ready for your adventure to end, why not extend your holiday with 3–5 nights in South Korea?
