Flight and Transfers

Direct flights from London to Bangkok take approximately 12 hours.

Visa Requirements

If you are a British passport holder you will not require a visa. You will, however, need six months validity on your passport, a return/onward ticket and proof of sufficient funds during your stay.

Language

Thai is the official language, but Bangkok is quite a tourist-driven city so expect most to understand at least a little English.

Transportation

Bangkok’s streets get incredibly crowded and congested , meaning that at peak times traffic flow slows to a crawl. This can mean that your journey times can be heavily extended. Nevertheless, metred taxis and tuk-tuks are a popular and (most of the time) fast way of getting around. Alternatively there are plenty of public transport options including the Skytrain and the Metro. Buses are also a possibly, but have a complex system of routes that might mean it’s worth your while to stick to the other forms of public transport. If you’re considering renting a car and driving yourself in Bangkok: don’t.

The Thai Baht is the official currency.
