Days 1 to 2
Hanoi
On arrival in Hanoi, you'll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. With two nights in the capital, you'll have time to explore the city's fascinating mix of Vietnamese and French influences.
Wander through the atmospheric Old Quarter, where narrow streets are packed with shops, cafés and street food stalls, before visiting Hoan Kiem Lake and the Temple of Literature. Other highlights include Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and the chance to see a traditional water puppet show. We also recommend joining a guided street food tour to experience some of Hanoi's famous local flavours.
Day 3
Halong Bay - Lan Ha Bay
Leave Hanoi behind and travel to Tuan Chau Marina, Ha Long Bay, where you'll board the elegant Heritage Cruises Binh Chuan for an overnight journey through the spectacular scenery of Lan Ha Bay. Less developed and generally quieter than neighbouring Ha Long Bay, Lan Ha is known for its dramatic limestone islands, hidden beaches and emerald-green waters.
Inspired by Vietnam's maritime heritage, this boutique cruise offers an intimate way to experience the bay, with just 20 suites, private balconies and panoramic views across the emerald waters.
After a gourmet lunch, spend the afternoon exploring the bay by kayak or swimming in its calm waters, before returning to the ship for afternoon tea and sunset views. There's also a Vietnamese cooking demonstration and time to enjoy the ship's swimming pool, art gallery, library or spa. In the evening, enjoy fine dining at Le Tonkin Restaurant, followed by drinks on deck or perhaps a spot of squid fishing beneath the stars.
Wake early the following morning for Vovinam, a traditional Vietnamese martial art, or simply enjoy the peaceful views from the sundeck. After breakfast, head out by traditional bamboo boat to explore the atmospheric Dark & Bright Cave, before returning to the ship for a leisurely brunch as you cruise back towards Tuan Chau Marina.
Days 4 to 6
Hoi An
Wake early the following morning for Vovinam, a traditional Vietnamese martial art, or simply enjoy the peaceful views from the sundeck. After breakfast, head out by traditional bamboo boat to explore the atmospheric Dark & Bright Cave, before returning to the ship for a leisurely brunch as you cruise back towards Tuan Chau Marina. You'll disembark late morning and transfer to the airport for your flight south to Da Nang, where a short 45-minute transfer brings you to the charming riverside town of Hoi An.
With three nights here, you'll have plenty of time to enjoy this charming riverside town at a relaxed pace. Explore the UNESCO-listed Ancient Town, browse the colourful markets and see the famous lanterns illuminate the streets after dark.
Away from the centre, you could cycle through the surrounding countryside, take a Vietnamese cooking class or visit the nearby My Son Sanctuary.
Days 7 to 11
Cambodia Beach
Fly from Da Nang to Cambodia, travelling onwards to Sihanoukville before transferring to your chosen island. You can either fly to Phnom Phen and transfer by road to Sihanoukville, or fly to Sihanoukville via Siem Reap. The exact flight routing will depend on your travel dates, with your Tropical Sky travel expert arranging the most convenient connections.
Koh Rong
For a relaxed island escape, choose Koh Rong, where long sandy beaches, turquoise waters and a laid-back atmosphere provide the perfect setting to unwind. Spend your days swimming and relaxing on the beach, or head out on the water for snorkelling, kayaking or a boat trip. A sunset cruise is another lovely way to experience the island.
Koh Krabey
For something more secluded, Koh Krabey is a small private island close to Sihanoukville. Here, the emphasis is on peace and relaxation, with beautiful surroundings, a private beach, swimming pool and opportunities for kayaking, paddleboarding and snorkelling. Your resort will arrange the short speedboat transfer from the mainland.
Song Saa Private Island
For the ultimate luxury island experience, choose Song Saa Private Island in the Koh Rong Archipelago. Reached by speedboat from Sihanoukville, this exclusive retreat is surrounded by pristine waters and tropical rainforest. Spend your days snorkelling, kayaking, exploring the surrounding islands or simply relaxing in your private villa.
Whichever island you choose, five nights gives you plenty of time to unwind and enjoy Cambodia's beautiful coastline after your sightseeing in Vietnam.
Days 12 to 14
Siem Reap
Transfer back to Sihanoukville and fly to Siem Reap, where you'll be met and transferred to your hotel.
Your three nights give you plenty of time to explore the incredible Angkor Archaeological Park. We recommend a full-day private tour of the highlights, including the magnificent Angkor Wat, the serene stone faces of Bayon and the atmospheric tree-root ruins of Ta Prohm.
An early start is worthwhile for an Angkor Wat sunrise, while back in Siem Reap you can explore the Old Market, browse the local boutiques and galleries or enjoy an evening performance at Phare, the Cambodian Circus.
Day 15
Depart Siem Reap
Transfer to Siem Reap International Airport for your flight home.
