Weddings at Sandies Tropical Village

Weddings from £950 All Inclusive 7 nights from £1,269 per person Including Flights

Overview

Tranquil, romantic and picturesque, this lovely resort can be found on the silky sands of Malindi, a beautiful coastal setting which is perfect for a blissful wedding celebration. The Sandies Tropical Village is a haven of serenity and Kenyan magic, encapsulated by peaceful gardens, stunning golden sand beaches and luscious, emerald palm trees swaying in the wind.

The wedding venues here are absolutely exceptional. Picture the two of you on a secluded stretch of pristine white sand, canopied by the shade of intertwining palm trees. The gentle melodies of azure ocean waves lapping into shore play as your soundtrack as you say ‘I do’, and the beautiful flower decorations gently rustle in the sea breeze. With our Classic Wedding, you’ll enjoy a bottle of sparkling wine and wedding cake to celebrate, and a romantic seafood dinner served at the A’ la carte restaurant in the evening.

We think you’ll really love the traditional décor of the rooms here, with the palm-thatched roofs and native flora making for an authentic ambience. For a truly sublime and luxury stay, we recommend upgrading to one of the Junior Suites, offering a rustic-luxe style with incredible views, a plush king-size bed, private balcony, living room and in-room breakfast.

The facilities here are sublime for a honeymoon, with a beautiful swimming pool and heavenly nearby spa, as well as a great selection fabulous land sports and evening entertainment. There’s a PADI diving and watersports centre on-site where you can explore the marine life and catch a glimpse of the mesmerising underwater landscape. Dine on delicious fusion dishes and fresh seafood in one of the relaxing restaurants, or head to one of the three bars for a refreshing beverage.

Letter Of No Trace - This is a document required in some destinations, which states that there is no impediment to the proposed marriage.  These certificates vary in the length of time they are valid so it is important to check which apply to your circumstances.  The certificate is prepared by the Superintendent Registrar at the Register Office in the area you live. This replaces the old advice for the Certificate of No Impediment. Before you travel:

Guests marrying at hotels in Kenya will need to send original documents via DHL to the resort at least 12 weeks before the date of travel.  If marrying on safari, please remember that you will need to spend at least 2 working days in Nairobi to complete wedding formalities before travelling to your chosen safari.

Translation of documents

All legal documents must be in English or legally translated into English. All translated documents must be from a legal translator with letterhead, stamp and seal from the translator's office or notarised by a Notary Public.  Occasionally the documentation will have to be sent to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for their approval before being sent back to the notary to sign.

The Wedding Ceremony

In most destinations, your wedding ceremony will be conducted Monday to Friday (excluding local holidays).  In some destinations, local festivals and holidays will determine available wedding dates.  Generally, your wedding will take place in the grounds of the hotel unless otherwise specified.  Many hotels offer wedding gazebos for extra privacy.  Some hotels may offer more than one wedding per day with the first wedding taking place at around 10am with the last wedding at 4pm.  The majority of our weddings are conducted by a marriage officer whose title varies depending on the resort.  Where it is possible to be married by a Minister, the ceremony will be non-denominational unless otherwise stated and will be a Civil wedding.

Tropical Sky Weddings and the information given above only apply to couples that were born in the UK or Ireland and hold a valid UK/Irish passport (with at least 6 months validity on return home).  If couples do not fulfil these requirements they must advise us.  Couples should be referred to the embassy of the country of origin and the country where they wish to marry as they may require extra documentation to satisfy their own embassy requirements – Tropical Sky cannot advise on this and couples must investigate this on their own. As Tropical Sky weddings have no jurisdiction over hotels/resorts/venues/legal requirements and their charges, we cannot be responsible for any increases or changes to these wedding arrangements.  We will, however, endeavour to advise you of changes as soon as we are made aware of them.
