An unforgettable wedding location
Zilwa Attitude offers a breath-taking view on the 5 islands of the northern coast: Coin de Mire, Ile Plate, Ilôt Gabriel, Ile Ronde and Ile aux Serpents.
The dream of marrying the love of your life on a private island may seem like an impossible idea, but at Zilwa Attitude no dream is too big, and the implausible suddenly becomes reality. Zilwa Attitude offers two types of wedding packages. The first is the Classic Wedding Package, offering stylish complimentary wedding essentials. The Premier Package, however, is where your dreams of a totally secluded island wedding come true on Gran Zil. Indulge with an exclusive couples massage at the peaceful Spa Attitude, pamper the bride-to-be with extra beauty treatments, and hold a bouquet of exotic flowers as you walk down the aisle. As for your island wedding? You’ll be able to say ‘I do’ on the Gran Zil private island. If you daydream about a beautiful beach wedding, with a spectacular backdrop of azure waters and beaming sunshine, Zilwa Attitude will certainly give you a wedding day to remember.
Complimentary accommodation for the Bride and receive the Classic Wedding free (legal fees paid at time of booking)
What makes your special day perfect? Inviting your family and friends to stay at the same hotel as you turns a wedding abroad into a tropical event that you’ll never forget. We’ve partnered with our friends at Zilwa Attitude to make your day, extra special. Following your wedding ceremony on the island of Gran Zil, enjoy a cocktail & canape reception following the wedding and then an informal Gran Zil BBQ dinner with unlimited drinks. This Tropical Sky exclusive wedding & reception option is for Bride & Groom and up to 20 guests staying at Zilwa Attitude.
Your special day should be personal, romantic and beautiful - from the charming to the glamorous, there is a wonderful selection of resorts to choose from for unforgettable commitment ceremonies. Commitment ceremonies mean many different things to different people. A same-sex commitment ceremony can look just like a wedding, complete with a special venue, the wedding outfits, surrounded by all of your family & friends, except that it’s not a legally recognised ceremony. It’s an intimate exchange between you and your partner. We are very pleased to offer same sex symbolic weddings in Mauritius.

These newly issued birth certificates should be scanned through or posted to the Tropical Sky Wedding Department approximately 12 weeks (and no later than 5 weeks) in advance of the wedding date. New UK birth certificates can be ordered online at:- www.gov.uk/order-copy-birth-death-marriage-certificate The current charge for this is £9.25 per certificate. Please do not order too early as the date of issue must be no earlier than 3 months prior to the wedding date.
A widow or divorcee is not legally authorised to remarry less than 300 days following her husband’s death or after her divorce has been declared unless she undergoes a medical examination in the respective country which will ascertain that she is not pregnant. The medical report should reach us at least 30 days prior to the wedding date. Should the test be proved positive, the couple will not be able to exchange vows under any circumstances.
Before you travel:
Guests marrying in Mauritius will need to send photocopies of the documents listed to us at least 12 weeks before the date of the wedding.
When you get there:
You will be required to visit the Civil Status Office in Port Louis to complete the necessary legal formalities. This will all be pre-arranged for you, so please do not worry. Please be aware, that if travelling with children, they are not permitted to attend the wedding appointments in Port Louis.
NOTE: FOR NON-UK CITIZENS
Extra documentation and extra charges may apply to non-UK citizens getting married in Mauritius. Please contact your Embassy or Consulate for further information. If your documents are not in English, they will need to be officially translated. Your wedding certificate will need to be apostilled in Mauritius (at additional cost), so that it can be internationally recognised.
ALL ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS MUST BE TAKEN WITH YOU WHEN YOU TRAVEL
Translation of documents
All legal documents must be in English or legally translated into English. All translated documents must be from a legal translator with letterhead, stamp and seal from the translator's office or notarised by a Notary Public. Occasionally the documentation will have to be sent to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for their approval before being sent back to the notary to sign.
The Wedding Ceremony
In most destinations, your wedding ceremony will be conducted Monday to Friday (excluding local holidays). In some destinations, local festivals and holidays will determine available wedding dates. Generally, your wedding will take place in the grounds of the hotel unless otherwise specified. Many hotels offer wedding gazebos for extra privacy. Some hotels may offer more than one wedding per day with the first wedding taking place at around 10am with the last wedding at 4pm. The majority of our weddings are conducted by a marriage officer whose title varies depending on the resort. Where it is possible to be married by a Minister, the ceremony will be non-denominational unless otherwise stated and will be a Civil wedding.
Tropical Sky Weddings and the information given above only apply to couples born in the UK & have a valid UK/Irish passport (with some months validity on return home). If couples do not fulfil these requirements they must advise us. Couples should be referred to the embassy of the country of origin and the country where they wish to marry as they may require extra documentation to satisfy their own embassy requirements – Tropical Sky cannot advise on this and couples must investigate this on their own. As Tropical Sky weddings have no jurisdiction over hotels/resorts/venues/legal requirements and their charges, we cannot be responsible for any increases or changes to these wedding arrangements. We will, however, endeavour to advise you of changes as soon as we are made aware of them. All prices and legal requirements correct as of June 2017.
