Flight and Transfers

There are no direct flights from the UK to the British Virgin Islands (BVIs) meaning you’ll have to stop-over or transfer at one of the other Caribbean islands (usually Antigua).

Visa Requirements

British passport holders do not require a visa to visit the BVIs. Check this with us before you travel to be on the safe side. British Citizens travelling to the British Virgin Islands require a full British passport which must be valid for 6 months after departure from this country. All children and infants must also have their own passports for entry into the British Virgin Islands. A visa is not required. Please check up to date visa requirements with the Foreign Office

Language

English is the official language.

Transportation

Taxis are expensive, so it can work out cheaper to rent if you’re going to be driving a lot. Travelling by boat can be a lot of fun, especially if you’re a keen sailor.

Electricity

Vaccination and Health

Check with your GP or visit a specialist travel clinic for specific advice relating to travel to the BVIs. As with all Caribbean destinations, drinking plenty of water and using plenty of mosquito repellent are an excellent idea. Please visit NaTHNaC and MASTA Travel health for more information
