This unique rail safari uses the modern Madaraka Express to transport you from Nairobi to Mombasa with a safari stop on route.  Offering a comfortable, leisurely, eco-friendly way to transverse the country, this is an increasing popular option.

Your Safari will be operated by the trained lodge drivers in their own safari buses.

Your safari stay at Salt Lick can be extended if you want to stay longer and we will of course tailor your beach stay to tie in perfectly with this safari.

Day 1

ollowing collection from your Nairobi Hotel or Nairobi International Airport, your train from Nairobi train station will depart around 8am.  The train journey time is around 4 hours.  Passing through both rural areas and game viewing areas, there is always plenty to see from your comfortable seats.  On arrival into Voi station, you will be met and transported by the lodge staff for check in and lunch.  Enjoy a tour of the museum and an afternoon game drive in the lodges safaribus.  All meals included.

Overnight: Salt Lick Safari Lodge, Taita Hills, Full Board

Day 2

After breakfast, enjoy another game drive returning for late morning and early afternoon at leisure along with lunch.  Enjoy the scenery from the lodge balcony before taking an afternoon game drive.  All meals included.

Day 3

After breakfast, experience one last game drive before heading to Voi train station for your two-hour onwards journey to Mombasa. On arrival to Mombasa station you will be transferred to your chosen hotel to start your beach stay.
