Fujairah is one of the smallest of the seven Emirates that make up the UAE, with a population of just 130,000, mostly concentrated in its main city, also called Fujairah. Set along the sandy shores of the Gulf of Oman on the east coast of the UAE it is dominated by the rugged Hajar mountains that run along its length. Fujairah is much more fertile than some of its neighbours, with a higher annual rainfall, and is an excellent alternative Arabian holiday destination, only 90 minutes from Dubai.
