Holidays to Saigon

Also known as Ho Chi Minh City, this is the bustling principle business city of Vietnam. There are several million motorcycles and few rules of traffic engagement which make for interesting driving conditions. This is a city that never stops. There is a buzz of energy; everyone is buying, selling, moving, building. Women dressed in national clothing walk past fashionable boutiques and crowded cafes. You’ll find good nightlife and some of the best shopping. This is also the base for a trip to the Cu Chi tunnels a site of epic resistance in the Vietnam War or a trip into the Mekong Delta.

Holidays to Hanoi

This is the capital and administrative centre of Vietnam. Its crowded streets are lined with mementos of its tempestuous history. You will find the Temple of Literature, a bastion of Confucian scholarship founded in 1015; an Old Quarter of winding alleys, crowded markets and traditional shop quarters; tree lined avenues flanked by colonial villas and a soviet style mausoleum housing the embalmed body of Ho Chi Minh. From here you can also take a day trip to Halong Bay for a lunch cruise around the limestone islands. Best shopping here is for paintings and shoes.

Holidays to Nha Trang

In the middle of Vietnam lies this beautiful resort with a 7- km - long beach. The coast is dotted with islands and there are excellent boat trips snorkelling and diving. The town has some interesting sights and markets and the surrounding countryside can be explored by organised tour or bicycle.

Holidays to Hoi An

Hoi An was Vietnam’s important international seaport town from the 16th century to the late 19th century with merchants from both Asia and Europe trading all sorts of goods from spices to gold. Located on the bank of Thu Bon River 30 kilometers south of Danang, this is a quiet riverside town dotted with temples, shrines and Chinese style tile-roofed wooden houses. Traditional lifestyle and Chinese architecture have remained virtually unspoiled since the 17th century – it is one of Vietnam’s four World Heritage sites. Indeed, it is the slow pace of life that makes this charming town worth a visit.
