With luxurious safari-style accommodation, including an en-suite bathroom, electricity and a private veranda, you’ll be able to enjoy a relaxing, homely stay with fantastic game drives spotting the Big Five, guided walks, cultural visits to Mara Rianda; a Masai community, and the option of a thrilling hot air balloon ride.
Throughout the trip you’ll also take part in a Photography Safaris with the highly celebrated wildlife photographer and film maker Warren Samuels, with tips and advice on creating impressive wildlife photos of the magnificent animals who graze in this beautiful area. With daily instructions, slide shows, documentaries and extra tuition, you’ll be sure to end your trip with a variety of fantastic photos of your experience.
On arrival in Nairobi, you will be met at the International Airport and transferred to Nairobi Wilson Airport for a short flight to the Masai Mara.
Your flight will arrive in the Governors’ Camp’s airstrip in Masai Mara, where your private 4x4 vehicle awaits to take you to the Tented Camp. Your accommodation is on a full board basis, with one morning and one late afternoon game drive included each day.
Today you will check in, tuck in to a delicious lunch, and then be whisked away on your first afternoon game drive of the trip.
Days 2 – 7
Over the next 6 days you’ll be able to witness the natural beauty of the Masai Mara and the wonderful wildlife that makes the area so celebrated. Your two game drives per day will grace you with unforgettable views of animals and vast, rolling plains, whilst back at camp you can spend the afternoon watching birds swoop above at the viewing deck, relax on your private veranda, or dine on delicious African cuisine by the outdoor boma.
As part of the Photography Safari, you’ll be able to partake in photography instructions with renowned wildlife photographer and film maker Warren Samuels on one game drive per day, where Warren will teach you the craft of photographing elusive wildlife. In the evening, refine your photos even more with slide shows on wildlife photography, or sit back and marvel at wildlife documentaries Warren has been involved in, with a brief lecture on each.
There are also optional Client Image Appraisal sessions, or Warren is available at the camp’s photographic gallery for extra photographic coaching outside of game hours.
Wake up early this morning for your final morning game drive and a big breakfast before your short flight back to Nairobi Wilson Airport, where you’ll be transferred to Nairobi International Airport and end your trip.
