Arrive in the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro and transfer to your hotel before enjoying the rest of the day at leisure to start exploring the city or relaxing ahead of the adventure that awaits you.

Day 2
Rio de Janeiro
In the morning, visit the colourful Selaron Steps and climb Sugar Load Mountain by cable car. Enjoy stunning views of the city and its diverse landscape of beaches, mountains and bays. Spend the afternoon participating in a cooking class, where you will learn about traditional Brazilian flavours and create a delicious dish using local ingredients.

Day 3
Rio de Janeiro
Enjoy a train ride to the summit of the Corcovado to visit one of the New Seven Wonders of the World – Christ the Redeemer, accompanied by spectacular views of the city.
The afternoon will be spent learning more about Rio’s Carnival in the creative heart of its production – Cidade do Samba, where you will have the opportunity to try on one of the vibrant costumes.

Day 4
Foz do Iguaçu
Today you will fly to Foz do Iguaçu – the gateway to the incredible Iguazu Falls, which sit on the border between Brazil and Argentina. Upon arrival, head into the breath-taking Iguazu National Park for your first look at the waterfalls. Take a glass elevator down to a viewing platform to marvel at the magnificent cataract of Garganta do Diabo (Devil’s Throat).
Later, cross the border into Argentina.

Day 5
Iguazu National Park
Wander the trails of the Argentinian side of the falls today, admiring their size and power. This is truly an unforgettable sight.
Over dinner, enjoy ‘The Argentine Experience’ – learning key phrases in Spanish and indulging in traditional Argentinian food and drink.

Day 6
Buenos Aires
Fly to Buenos Aires – Argentina’s captivating capital. Start exploring upon arrival with the Plaza de Mayo, home to some of the most important buildings in the country. Explore the neighbourhoods of Palermo, Retiro, Recoleta (including a visit to the famous cemetery), San Telmo and La Boca, discovering the unique atmosphere of each.

Day 7
The Pampas
Uncover rural Argentina with a day outside the city on the Pampas – fertile low grasslands that span south and west from Buenos Aires. Spend time on a traditional estancia (ranch), where you will gain insight into the life of a gaucho. Enjoy a typical Argentinian lunch before a folklore show.

Day 8
MS Fridtjof Nansen
Take a flight to the “End of the World” – Ushuaia, the world’s southernmost city. Transfer to the port to board your expedition ship and enjoy the rest of the day settling into your cabin, listening to the expedition briefing and exploring the facilities.

Days 9-10
Drake Passage
Embark on your journey towards Antarctica with a two-day crossing of the legendary Drake Passage, offering an exhilarating start to your expedition where the Pacific meets the Atlantic. Keep an eye out for albatrosses, petrels and whales along the way.
During this time, enjoy expert-led briefings, visit the onboard Science Centre or unwind in the spa and Explorer Lounge and Bar.

Days 11 – 15
Antarctica
Your first glimpse of this magnificent continent will be unforgettable – a vast untouched realm of snow, ice, rock and sea. As you explore this incredible wilderness, prepare to be awed by its immense scale and profound silence.
Over five days of Antarctic discovery, the itinerary remains flexible to adapt to weather and conditions. Landings and ice cruises will be led by the expert Expedition Team. Witness remarkable wildlife such as penguins, whales, seals and seabirds. Enrich your experience with onboard lectures on wildlife, history, climate and conservation.

Days 16-17
Drake Passage
Spend the next two days heading north across the Drake Passage and reflect on your adventure in Antarctica and South America. Share memories with fellow passengers and relax and rejuvenate with spa treatments.

Buenos Aires
Say goodbye to the MS Fridtjof Nansen and disembark in Ushuaia before flying to Buenos Aires.
In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at a Tango Show – music, dancing, singing and delicious food mark the end of a fantastic journey.
