Begin your adventure in Puerto Montt, a quaint port city in Chile’s Lake District explore and sample the local seafood before continuing onto the colonial town of Puerto Varas, situated on the banks of the enormous Lake Llanquihue with picturesque snow-topped Volcanoes acting as a dramatic backdrop, both still active.

From here you will take a trip to the Vicente Perez Rosales National Park, admiring the Petrohue Falls before enjoying a catamaran trip through a tiny hamlet and visit the beautiful town Chiloe Island (TUR).

Day 1

Puerto Montt – Puerto Varas

Fly into Puerto Montt to begin your adventure, upon arrival meet your guide and begin with a visit in the main square of the town, Plaza de Armas, taking in the sights of the Cathedral and the German settler’s monuments. Head onto the stunning viewpoint overlooking the town and the Relocavi Sound. On a clear day the numerous volcanoes of the area and Chiloe Island can be seen. Travel through a residential area to reach the coastal road before stopping off in the fisherman’s village of Angelmo where it is possible to taste some of the local fresh seafood and discover the local wooden crafts and woollen articles for sale. At the end of your tour transfer to your hotel in Puerto Varas for your overnight stay.

Day 2

Puerto Varas – Peulla – Puerto Varas

Today travel to Peulla, taking the road which runs along the lake shore towards Petrohue. Visit the Petrohue Falls in the Vicente Perez Rosales National Park before continuing on to the boarding point for the catamaran which travels to the tiny hamlet of Peulla. The journey is on the emerald waters of the lake, with stunning vistas of the Osorno Volcano and the peaks of Puntiagudo and El Tronador mountains in the background.

Enjoy a lunch in Peulla this afternoon and spend some time at leisure or take an optional tour before returning to Puerto Varas.

Day 3

Puerto Varas – Chiloe Island – Puerto Varas

Travel to the town of Castro on Chiloe Island, famous for its ‘palafitos’; houses built on stilts over the water, painted with bright colours. In the main square (Plaza de Armas) visit the church built in 1912 by an Eduardo Provasoli, an Italian architect. Visit the museum exhibiting Indian artefacts, photos of the earth and sea quake which took a devastating effect on the island and see a display of the typical life of the inhabitants on the island. From the Gamboa lookout point, visit the craft market and enjoy the opportunity to browse the stalls and perhaps buy some souvenirs/ gifts.

Day 4

Puerto Varas – Puerto Montt

After breakfast at the hotel, take your private transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
