Bogota

After enjoying breakfast, you’ll embark on a fascinating tour of the city’s historical centre. Stops on the tour include Plaza de Bolivar, a charming square home to the National Capitol, Casa de Nariño (the Presidential house), and the Santa Clara Church Museum. Next up is the Gold Museum, exhibiting a huge array of 34,000 pieces of metalwork created by various Hispanic cultures, and then the House Museum Quinta de Bolivar. The tour will also take you to Bogota’s most iconic attraction, Monserrate Hill, which rises up to 3,152 above sea level and is home to a sanctuary where you’ll find the statue of the Lord of Miracles and phenomenal views of Bogota.

The tour then follows through Bogota’s savannah to the town of Zipaquira, giving you the chance to stop for a tasty local lunch. After dining, you’ll move on to the Salt Cathedral, which was built in an underground salt deposit at 180m below the surface and was once the first wonder of Colombia. Head back to your hotel in Bogota for the night.

Breakfast included.

Day 3

Bogota – Pereira/Coffee Region

Begin the day with breakfast before taking a short flight to Pereira’s Airport in the Colombian Coffee Region. From here, you’ll be transferred to your hotel.

Breakfast included.

Day 4

Pereira/Coffee Region

This morning you’ll be going to Finca del Café, a beautiful farm located in the borough of Santa Rosa de Cabal in Risaralda. Once there, a local expert will guide you through the sweeping coffee plantations where you can learn all about the process: sowing, selective manual harvest, and depulping. Next, you’ll get the chance to toast your own coffee grains in a wood stove in the kitchen of a traditional peasant house – which is the most authentic Colombian coffee experience.

Next, you’ll explore the plantations some more, stopping by different stations for a variety of beautiful viewpoints as you enjoy a fragrant cup of coffee. Lastly, you’ll discover the process of coffee drying, finishing with a coffee lemonade in the principal house of the farm. It’s then time for lunch, before enjoying the afternoon as leisure.

Breakfast and lunch included.

Day 5

Pereira/Coffee Region – Cocora Valley

Begin the day with a transfer to Cocora Valley – make sure to take in the gorgeous views along the way. Once there, you’ll be treated to a welcome cocktail called Canelazo, before joining an eco-guide for an introduction to the natural reserve of Cocora.

Afterwards, you’ll discover fog’s forest, brimming with biodiverse flora and fauna including the highest wax palm of the world. There’s a chance to connect to nature with a special ritual of planting palms, before moving on to the village of Salento for an interesting walking tour of the quaint colonial streets and craft workshops. Enjoy a quick lunch before heading back to the hotel for some free time.

Breakfast and lunch included.

Your tour includes Bare Feet Park (Parque de los Pies Descalzos), the Botero’s Square – home to the oversized sculptures by Colombian artist Fernando Botero, Nutibara’s Hill and the Metropolitan Cathedral. You’ll also explore Pueblito Paisa, a replica of a typical village in Antioquia, adorned with local eateries and craft shops. The afternoon is free for you to explore further at your own pace.
