Day 1

Bogota

Upon arrival in Bogota, you will transfer to your hotel of choice.

Day 2

Bogota

After enjoying breakfast, you’ll embark on a fascinating tour of the city’s historical centre. Stops on the tour include Plaza de Bolivar, a charming square home to the National Capitol, Casa de Nariño (the Presidential house), and the Santa Clara Church Museum. Next up is the Gold Museum, exhibiting a huge array of 34,000 pieces of metalwork created by various Hispanic cultures, and then the House Museum Quinta de Bolivar. The tour will also take you to Bogota’s most iconic attraction, Monserrate Hill, which rises up to 3,152 above sea level and is home to a sanctuary where you’ll find the statue of the Lord of Miracles and phenomenal views of Bogota.

The Gold Museum and Quinta de Bolivar are closed on Mondays - instead, you will visit Museo de Botero and Museo Casa de la Mondea.

Day 3

Bogota

Enjoy breakfast, before meeting a staff member for a morning or afternoon tour through La Sabana de Bogota to the town of Zipaquirá. You'll then move on to the Salt Cathedral, which was built in an underground salt deposit at 180m below the surface and was once the first wonder of Colombia. Head back to your hotel in Bogota for the night.

Day 4

Bogota – Pereira/Coffee Region

Begin the day with breakfast before taking a short flight to Pereira’s Airport in the Colombian Coffee Region. From here, you’ll be transferred to your hotel.

Day 5

Pereira/Coffee Region

Today a local expert will guide you through the sweeping coffee plantations where you can learn all about the process: sowing, selective manual harvest, and depulping. After, you’ll get the chance to toast your own coffee grains in a wood stove in the kitchen of a traditional peasant house – which is the most authentic Colombian coffee experience.

Explore the plantations some more, stopping by different stations for a variety of beautiful viewpoints as you enjoy a fragrant cup of coffee. Lastly, you’ll discover the process of coffee drying, finishing with a coffee lemonade in the principal house of the farm. It’s then time for lunch, before enjoying the afternoon as leisure.

Day 6

Pereira/Coffee Region – Cocora Valley and Salento Village

Begin the day with a transfer to Cocora Valley – make sure to take in the gorgeous views along the way. Once there, you’ll be treated to a welcome cocktail called Canelazo, before joining an eco-guide for an introduction to the natural reserve of Cocora.

Afterwards, you’ll discover fog’s forest, brimming with biodiverse flora and fauna including the highest wax palm of the world. There’s a chance to connect to nature with a special ritual of planting palms, before moving on to the village of Salento for an interesting walking tour of the quaint colonial streets and craft workshops. Enjoy a quick lunch before heading back to the hotel for some free time.

Day 7

Pereira Coffee Region – Medellín

After breakfast, you will venture out onto your road trip to Medellin (approx 6 hours). Reaching your destination in the afternoon, the rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 8

Medellín

Day eight will be spent enjoying a panoramic tour of the city, where you’ll discover some of the most fascinating attractions. Your tour includes Bare Feet Park (Parque de los Pies Descalzos), the Botero’s Square – home to the oversized sculptures by Colombian artist Fernando Botero, Nutibara’s Hill and the Metropolitan Cathedral. You’ll also explore Pueblito Paisa, a replica of a typical village in Antioquia, adorned with local eateries and craft shops. The afternoon is free for you to explore further at your own pace.

Day 9

Medellín

The day begins early today, with a tour of the eastern side of Antioquaia (the region in which Medellín resides). Your trip involves passing through the charming towns of Marinilla – a captivating place with colonial buildings and a fervent religious tradition, and the new El Peñol – which replaced the old town that was flooded to build the reservoir El Peñol – Guatape. Other sights include La Piedrea de El Peñol (a 220 meters high rock), and the Guatape town. Afterwards, you’ll transfer back to Medellín.

Day 10

Medellín - Cartagena

After breakfast, you will transfer to the airport for your flight to Cartagena. Overnight at the hotel of your choice.

Day 11

Cartagena

Enjoy breakfast, before embarking on a panormaic tour of Cartagena de India. On your tour, you'll wander through the modern area of Bocagrande and the Manga neighbourhood, where you'll see lovely old houses from the beginning of the 20th century. From there, you'll visit the Castle of San Felipe de Barajas, where the Spanish defended themselves from the English in the 17th century. The tour finishes with a visit to the emerald museum.

Day 12

Cartagena

Tuck into breakfast before enjoying a full day tour of the Rosario's Islands National Park. Here, you'll marvel at coral beaches and the vibrant reef, perfect for swimming and relaxing.

Day 13

Cartagena - Santa Marta

Today you will have a 3 and a half hour transfer from Cartagena to Santa Marta, where you can rest and relax at your hotel.

Day 14

Santa Marta

One of the oldest cities in South America, this wonderful tour will showcase the city's inlets of white sand, the Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino, the Minor Basilica Cathedral, the Gold Museum or the Customs House. The tour ends with a stop at the monument 'Pibe Valderrama' for a great photo opportunity.

Day 15

Santa Marta

After breakfast, you will transfer to the airport for your ongoing flight
