Overview

A well located hotel in a gorgeous rainforest setting, offering 16 acres of tropical gardens and a great stretch of beach, ideal for relaxing in the sun. Families will love this hotel, with four swimming pools to choose from including a swim-up bar for the adults and for the kids their own pool with water slide, kids menu and a playground. A couple of excellent restaurants in resort include the Tropical Garden restaurant or a more romantic beachside setting. The classic Thai bar provides plenty of tropical cocktail action, great for watching the sunset after a day at the beach.

There's plenty of activities on offer to suit all ages including the tennis courts, volleyball, table tennis, a nature trail running through the grounds, spa massages and facials or take the shuttle into the town centre to explore and try the local restaurants. If you prefer to spend your time in resort, soaking up the sun and relaxing by the pool, there is an all inclusive package on offer.

Set on the southwest coast of Thailand towards the north of Phuket Island, nestled into a serene beach with tranquil tropical rainforests and the Andaman Sea serving as spectacular backdrops.

With an abundance of national parks, monuments, waterfalls and unforgettable viewpoints, Khao Lak overflows with natural beauty. Three magnificent national parks (Khao Lak-Lam Ru, Khlong Phanom and Khao Sok) are close by to your resort, with beautiful trails through the regions of rugged natural beauty. The villages of Khao Lak can be found around 10 minutes away from your resort. The Wat Suwan Khuha (Temple Cave) is one of the many landmarks in the province, featuring an impressive reclining Buddha statue inside a gorgeous limestone cave, and macaque monkeys await visitors at the entrance to be fed bananas and peanuts sold by the vendors; this can be reached in around an hour.

Room types are as follows:

  • Superior Rooms – choice of king-size or twin beds, en-suite bathroom with a bathtub and shower over the tub with private balcony.
  • Deluxe Room – larger than Superior Rooms including more space on the balcony and a bathroom with bathtub and separate shower. Décor is typically Thai with lots of wooden features and a classic ceiling fan or a more contemporary and chic appearance is available.
  • Pool Access Rooms – the same size as Deluxe Natural Rooms with one king-size bed and a larger balcony and terrace area which has direct access to one of the resort's swimming pools. Ensuite with separate shower and bathtub. Please note: no children under the age of 12 are allowed to stay in Pool Access Rooms.
  • Family Superior Room - this is made up of two Superior rooms with an interconnecting door
  • Family Deluxe Room - this is made up of two Deluxe rooms with an interconnecting door
  • One Bedroom Pool Villas – triple the size of Pool Access Rooms with one king-size bed, a separate lounge area, two bathrooms and a private swimming pool and spacious furnished terrace.
  • Two Bedroom Pool Villas – larger than One Bedroom Pool Villas with one king-size en-suite bedroom and one twin bedroom, separate living area and private pool and terrace area which are roughly double the size of One Bedroom Pool Villa versions.

  • Tropical Garden Restaurant & Bar – all-day dining featuring international, Thai and Asian dishes including a breakfast buffet and vegetarian options.
  • Veranda – open for lunch and evening meals serving seafood and meat grills within a beautiful and romantic setting.
  • Lobby Lounge – live music, internet access, comfy sofas and bar area serving hot and cold drinks.
  • Beach Bar – tropical drinks served right on the beach from 11am till 6pm.
     

  • The Merlin Spa has a great choice of face, wrap and all-over body treatments from 10am until 9pm.

Guests staying from 1 May to 31 October can upgrade to all-inclusive board basis. The all-inclusive package includes:

  • A la carte or set menu at Tropical Garden, or theme buffet dinner at Beach Lawn

Renovations 2024

Please note from 8th June - 31st July 2024 Khaolak Merlin Resort will be temporarily closing the Waterfall Pool (next to Veranda) for essential maintenance work. During this period, all other pools at the resort will continue to operate as usual, ensuring that our guests can still enjoy a refreshing swim during their stay.

The work involves the maintenance and touch-up of the pool tiles, and there will be no use of heavy machinery to ensure a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere for all guests.
