Things to do in the Maldives

Diving and snorkelling

The Maldives is one of the ultimate diving destinations thanks to its abundance of excellent spots for diving including house reefs and wrecks. You’ll get the opportunity to swim with tropical fish, manta rays and sharks. It’s one of the world’s best destinations for face-to-face encounters with whale sharks – the biggest fish in the world.

Surfing

While the sea around the Maldives is sometimes too calm to get good waves, during the slightly windier months it is considered to be an excellent destination for surfing. Often the resorts are not ideal for surfing and if you want to find good surf spots you’ll need to go on an excursion arranged by the resort.

Sunbathing

Sometimes there’s nothing better than just relaxing on the beach, and the Maldives certainly provides you with the perfect place to do it. Just remember to be generous with your sun cream – the rays here are very powerful.
